WoW Insider Show today at 1pm Eastern
Our podcast is kicking off the weekend today at a special time -- I'm heading off to Gen Con this weekend, so we're recording the show live this afternoon at 1pm Eastern. Along for the ride will be Lesley Smith and The T, and we might even have another special guest or two in the mix -- tune in and find out. We'll be chatting about all of the biggest news of the past week in Warcraft, including the leaks about the new expansion, Cataclysm, Icecrown and how big it'll be, what to expect at BlizzCon next week, and the return of a certain black dragon.Plus, we'll answer your emails, so feel free to send anything you'd like us to talk about to theshow@wow.com, and you might even hear it on today's show. It all kicks off this afternoon at August 13, 2009 1:00 PM EDT over on our Ustream page, or, as always, you can find the embedded stream after the break below. See you there!

What are you going to be up to at Gen Con? I'll most likely be there saturday and sunday to check out some of the films/anime and the exhibit booths. The saturday night party at Union Station is always a lot of fun too.

Alright, this one looks to be interesting. Not a topic being discussed that I'm not looking forward to.

" It all kicks off this afternoon at Friday, Aug 14 at 1:30 PM in your time zone GMT+1 over on our Ustream page"
When I saw that, I thought I'd missed it (it's 3:40pm BST at time of posting this), then I read up and realised that 1pm EDT does not equal 1:30 BST/GMT+1.
What's the real time difference, and can you fix that quote?
Mike Schramm Aug 13th 2009 11:20AM
Should be fixed now, sorry. Show is today, this afternoon, at 1pm Eastern, which I believe is 6pm GMT.

About your question about battleground XP, it's not bad. In AV i got around 20k per tower/galv and then a bunch for winning. I had a druid at 73 on friday, by tuesday i got her to 80. The horde players have learned how to win AV too, so that's about 50%/50% wins losses. I probably could have gotten there quicker questing, but after recently just getting a priest to 80, i wanted to try something different. One buggaboo, there is no gold from running it, so when you level you need to come up with skill money somewhere. If you don't mind being in outdated gear, not as much a problem, as you will get a ton of honor to pick up some pieces of honor gear, i was able to get gloves, shoulders and chest after all this, about a piece every two levels or so. I tried Isle, but ally was outnumbered horribly, so it wasn't even worth the effort (we had 15, horde had 40, we got roflstomped). I haven't tried WSG or AB, but i hear if you win it's not bad, not as good as AV, and if you loose it's pointless.
