And now she's back. I don't understand it either but finding out is certainly going to be exciting. Plus there's finally a 310% dragon mount that I actually want. So, constant readers, what do you think about this revelation? How do you think she will be brought back into the picture? Is it just something to keep us entertained until patch 3.3 or could it be part of the bigger picture? After all, this announcement has come just over a week before BlizzCon. It's gotta mean something, right?

That's what I have been saying for like a year, It would be so easy to let you "heroic" all the old instances and that way , it would be even more easy badges for all you casuals.

Being from the "TBC generation" (by the time I hit 60 TBC had hit), I never did Onyxia properly, so I suppose it could be fun.
And yeah, I doubt there will be much lore involved. Not every game change has to be tied to a lore change.

I started playing around the time Black Temple got introduced, so I never experienced Onyxia in all her shining glory. Me and some friends three-manned it for the bags and money and just to do something, but that was simple and not that rewarding. I'm not too concerned about her return as I'm not a raider nor that greatly geared, but as a mount lover I want that mount. /sob

I'm ok with the idea of updating content.
I don't know about other people, but at this point in 3.2 the content felt very thin, so I'm glad there's something else to look forward to.
I'm not a fan of RNG, so I'm disappointed that the early word is that the mount will be next to impossible to get. Just my opinion, but I'd rather they not have the mount at all than to make it a super-rare RNG thing.

I don't like the fact that it essentially exists outside of the Lore, but otherwise I'm excited for it.
Considering I still haven't gotten my Deathcharger mount from the Baron, the idea of a similar drop rate on this one is terrifying.

Why does it exist outside of lore?
When you enter the instance and kill her, three days later, she respawns. She lives again. How is that "lore"?
So, if that's not lore, giving her an extra 20 levels and some updated loot... How is that any different?
I'm not sure how it's going to affect her quest chains - which is the one thing I'm mildly worried about - but updating an old boss for higher level characters hardly breaks lore.
It's a game.

Technically, this 'resurrection' does break lore -- unless Blizz makes accomodations for it with new, updated lore. On the other hand, probably few people playing now ever saw Onyxia at-level anyway.
Another big difference is that the game is HUGELY HUGELY HUGELY different now than it was when 60 was the level cap. But that is another matter entirely.

I find it far too coincidental that this was announced so quickly after the last big patch, as if they were trying to jam it in before BlizzCon. At first blush, it seems like something they're doing just to occupy some time, and as a 5 year birthday thing.
But with the news about the next expansion being leaked, and the belief that it involves the Maelstrom, as well as Worgen (from Gilneas, mayhaps?), I'm starting to wonder if they're ANOTHER reason why Lady Onyxia has "awoken"... perhaps to finish what she started when she had King Wrynn kidnapped?
From a lore geek standpoint, they could do SOOO much with this... and god, I hope they do.

I soloed the whole chain at level 80 (as part of my Loremaster achievement) having never seen her previously.
I really enjoyed it and do look forward to her return.

everyone is turning undead these days... the Black knight... that boss whose name i forgot in UK.. the last boss in UK and soo on :P
