Possible new race/class combinations datamined
Here's another whopper from Handclaw at Scrolls of Lore, who first uncovered the goblin and worgen masks a month ago.
You may remember the quest added to Thunder Bluff recently, where two druids talk about the merits of following the Sun instead of the Moon. Well, on the 3.2.2 PTR, another new quest has been added, this time to Darnassus, where a Highborne mage asks for an audience with Tyrande to offer his services as a mage.
While many speculated that the Thunder Bluff quest indicated a new class, they may be more correct than they think.
In the Patch 3.2.2 PTR files, a number of new race/class combination NPCs were discovered. The data mined from MMO-Champion seems to indicate that several races will have the ability to roll classes previously unavailable to them. Unlike our confirmed addition of the new races, it is only speculation that these combinations will be playable, but with the addition of the class-related quests with each additional patch, it seems quite likely.
The current list of these combinations is after the jump. Several races should prepare to jump for joy.
- Human Hunter
- Orc Mage
- Night Elf Mage
- Blood Elf Warrior
- Dwarf Shaman
- Dwarf Mage
- Undead Hunter
- Tauren Paladin
- Tauren Priest
- Gnome Priest
- Troll Druid
Yes, that's right. Another shaman for the Alliance, another paladin for the Horde side, two more hunters, another druid for the Horde, a gnome healing class, the triumphant return of the lost-to-vanilla-beta dwarf mage, the advent of blood elf warriors...
If this turns out to be something Blizzard is adding with Cataclysm, the amount of rerollers on top of those playing the new races will be truly staggering. Now where's my other Alliance druid, Blizzard?
2n - 1 go left, 2n go right. I don't see enough DoTs! More DoTs now! Are you ready for the return of Onyxia? With the Brood Mother being revitalized as a 10 and 25 person raid, you'll need to be sure you know everything that's coming at you. WoW.com's Guide to Patch 3.2.2 will make sure your set for the next patch!

Here's how I think it's gonna happen with the Highborne: He's gonna teach the night elves how to become mages. Stormrage's gonna finnaly come back, gets mad, and gathers some druids to become a boss at a new dungeon. Or he'll come back to become the leader of the night elves and kicks the highborne out of Teldrassil with all the night elf mages (they won't be playable in this case), And they'll become kill-able enemies.

Basically the idea is good. We do need more Tauren classes since we've got only 4 for them /not counting the *meh* Death Knight/. A Tauren Paladin is a nice combination, and IIRC we've seen such even in the original WoW - and I'm talking about those bullheads in Darkcloud Pinacle. A Dwarf Shaman and Human Hunter are also good ideas since we've seen in lore both.
However, I just can't imagine some things. Like a Tauren Priest. Really? A Priest? I don't think the Taurens need any priests at all, both in game and lored. When we're talking about Taurens and arcanity things can get shitty.
Also, an undead hunter sounds really stupid. Try to imagine a Tauren Warlock - it's a meh situation. The same thing is the Undead Hunter - the Forsaken, fighting with everything living /from the Wrath Gate it becomes clear that when they say everything they mean everything/, aren't exactly THAT kindly type of nature-lovers beast-tamers. They are more likely into the light, but not into the nature. A better replacement is the Undead Paladin in my opinion.
We have a new druid for the Horde, why not one for the Alliance? I can't imagine why a Dwarf would become a mage /maybe they want to keep their brews hot with arcane powers, who knows/, but having a Wildhammer Shaman makes it easier for the Ironforge Dwarves with a little help of lore-raping to become the new druid class for the Alliance.
However, I'm glad with the other decisions. As I mentioned, Tauren Paladin, Human Hunter and Dwarf Shaman are nice combinations. So are and the Orc Mage, Night Elf Mage, Blood Elf Warrior - furthermore they exist in-lore and in-game. Plus it's never a bad thing to have a little healin' fella in your legs. x)

You have a new druid for the alliance. It comes with the Worgen. Read my post.
Apart from this, I did find your post very acccurate and reasonable.
Good job.

Now I wish I would've waited, I'd have definitely made my hunter a human if I had had the option.

dunno ... considering the lore of the elves in general the NE mage isnt that hot a fit ... what does fit and has confused me is why cant night elves be shaman? shamanisim and druidisim seem rather fitting together ... nature and elements sort of thing .... and it was really obnoxious not having a shaman trainer in darnassus.
also ... undead hunter? that simply does not belong ...

Tauren Pallys and Priest are no fun. Soon i'll quit.

the worgan will be able to be the other alliance druid no doubt, especially if they have a connection with the emerald dream
Ger Aug 18th 2009 4:59PM
Why are they no fun?
Why put off until tomorrow what you can do today?
I'm so tired of baseless threats of quitting. Don't moan about it.... Either do it or don't.

"Now where's my other Alliance druid, Blizzard?"
It is in the worgens!
Next time try to be more careful with the data you provide, otherwise people won't find themselves able to trust you!
