Wow.com had no source on their "confirmation" of Worgen and Goblin as Cataclysm's races, why don't you call shenanigans on them too? Both sites have confidential sources, can't you respect that without calling shenanigans on one but not the other?

The information he posted seems like a lame April fools joke.
I'm not believing any of it.
ChaosPrime Aug 14th 2009 9:15PM
AMEN!
I just read through it all, and I was just screaming 'NO!' at the screen.
Night Elf Mage? Yeah right, that's gonna happen when Night Elves get Mages..... Oh wait...
RogueJedi86 Aug 14th 2009 9:59PM
How come when WoW.com posts Cataclysm info, it's the real deal, but when MMO-Champion posts Cataclysm, it has to be an April Fool's Joke? I smell bias.
I personally believe MMO-Champion, Boubille has no reason to lie, and Wow.com has relied on his info many many times before.

I am beginning to agree with you Jay. Even though I can see it all being true. I think an explanation is needed, because people seem to be struggle why blizzard is doing thing, way too much. The level cap is a good example, making it 85 not 90 seemed weird. But it does prevent old bosses like Illidian by being taken on by a solo level 90.

This guy was dead on for the WotLK...
just because it's not the news you wanted doesn't mean it's accurate.
Jay I'm sure bff/player housing will come along for you someday so you and your Fillipino cabana boy can rp together undisturbed by idiots in the trade channel

Night Elf Mage...
Has to be scam :S
NE are against all arcane right, or do they suddenly see that they have been wrong to bannish all the NE's who practised it?
(The high/blood elves anyone...)
And I allways figured that Illidan was a constant reminder why they were against arcane magic.
If that is real, then what the hell is blizz thinking
Eltanos Aug 14th 2009 8:58PM
Highborne are Night Elves who use Arcane magic, since the Cataclysm (Sundering) had to do with the Highborne, Night Elf mage is a viable race/class combo
Lindsey Aug 14th 2009 9:05PM
Druids use a couple arcane based spells. They aren't completely against it.
ZakuraX Aug 14th 2009 9:38PM
The fact that he hight elves that was the highborn was kicked out because of the use of arcane power makes it dumb.
Correct me if I am wrong on this, but I mean to remember that Illidan was originally bannished from the NE socity for using arcane power. And now they suddenly allow everyone to use it?
Or are the NE's mages forming their own socity. Joining the hordes BE maybe? Or the high elves.
The fact that it on MMOChampion says that it is more then speculation, and then writing all that (witch a lot seems like bullshit) makes it look even more like a fake.
Common, it says that Thrall will quit as the warchief. He will be rescued by goblins. And he will appoint Garrosh as the next one. Thrall is not happy with the way Garrosh is acting (By the looks of it)
Downrate me all you wan, but to much of it goes against the lore.
The next announcement would be that the NE say sorry to the BE for throwing them out and welcommes them back to them.
A lot also makes sense from what is written on MMO Champ, but it all seems buildt on specualtion and wishful thinking.

@ lindsey
IT has been noted a million times before that those druid spells are arcane on in game mechanics, and not in lore. they are group'd in with arcane because blizzard didn't want to have to create a whole new spell time just for those few druid spells.
gameleon Aug 15th 2009 11:38AM
Night elf mages with the highborne etc could be possible. Look at the 3.2.2 PTR, go to Darnassus, what NPC you see there in the temple of the moon discussing some things about a 'big change' with the night elf leaders and saying something about the 'inevitable return of the highborne'(from the dire maul city) to night elf society? That's right , a highborne :D They have also appeared in Dalaran.

LOREGASM!
Moonkinmaniac Aug 14th 2009 8:58PM
I don't know, each xpack has had significant amounts of new zones. I'd really be hoping with all the competition out there now and with the age of Warcraft getting up there they'd offer more newness instead of what we did already slightly different.
Lendri Aug 14th 2009 8:58PM
And another Aspect will bite the dust.
Grendalsh Aug 14th 2009 8:58PM
Broke. Brain.
Lilithsblood Aug 14th 2009 8:59PM
Though I'd be happy as anyone to see a lot of this come true, it strikes me QUITE odd that Blizzard would 'let' this 'slip' out? Either they really are slipping (which I doubt) or possibly they leaking certain things on purpose just to throw us off. If so thats strange because it would get a lot of peoples hopes up.
On the other hand most of it makes a lot of sense with the Cataclysm ideas (although the class combo's don't lore wise, but mechanics, and more accessibility? Sure, sounds fine.)
Then again they could be taking a new approach to how they let on certain things. A new way of advertising, because we all know that 'leaks' get really popular, everyone wants to hear secret inside info! Heh.
dpoyesac Aug 14th 2009 11:59PM
How soon is Blizzcon? Nothing gets the livefeed subscription rates up -- and the lore nerd salivating or foaming at the mouth -- than a "leak" from an "anonymous source" that simultaneously gives us everything we want and takes away important lore foundations.
Reading this I certainly went from "Yeah, I'm kinda moderately interested in Blizzcon" to "Holy Crap! I need to scrap up forty bucks so I can watch the live feed as they make Tauren Paladins official!"
MasterAsh Aug 15th 2009 6:52AM
You should really check out Magic: The Gathering expansion spoilers sometime and track their accuracy. . .
Seriously, there's NO way of guaranteeing information will not leak. . .
. . .though there's equally no way of guaranteeing that information's truth.
Suzaku Aug 15th 2009 9:42AM
Leaks aren't Blizzard "letting" things slip out. They have hundreds of employees, they do interviews with the press. They've probably sent screenshots, artwork, logos, and information to various magazines already, so they have time to prepare articles for the coming weeks.
All it takes is *one* person to leak this information out of Blizzard to a friend or contact.
I'm a nobody, no blog or anything, but I have friends in the game industry who leak information to me constantly about upcoming games. I knew all the details about Mega Man 9 about 6 months before it was announced, and the entire cast of SFIV well before the game was released, as well. And again, I'm nobody. If *I* can get inside info like that, I'm positive that the people running WoW.com or MMO Champion and get inside info.
