I agree with pam.

I've tried reading up on some fights and usually the info is what their abilities do but it's not as effective as just trying the fight.

Especially the videos. the horrible videos on most raiding sites. Every single one i've seen has just been a video of someone doing the fight but their UI is all muddled with crap because they of course have recount and whatever relevant addons they use. If there was some kind of voiceover explaining what was happening then maybe just maybe the video would make some sense.
