With news that the
Broodmother herself
is returning for
WoW's fifth anniversary and
patch 3.2.2, it got me thinking about other old world bosses which could be revamped. Now don't get me wrong, I totally get that Onyxia is a one-time thing this expansion.
All fun and no lore, to paraphrase one of our commentators, Maxim. But the concept is ripe for a Breakfast Topic, after all Onyxia is a classic raid but she wasn't the only one. Granted, she remains the most popular and the most legendary, the raid itself was almost a reward for completing what has to be the game's most epic quest chain. And then there was the loot, the
lovely legendary (if not in colour) loot. Excuse me while I drool.
So lets say, hypothetically, you could bring back any lower level boss for a short time period aimed at level 80s. Which would you choose? Personally I'd love to see the
Dragons of Nightmare, simply because they were so epic. Indeed, they are still a challenge to down today, especially with
that annoying debuff. I also live in hope of seeing something of the
Emerald Dream soon but that's for another day. So, constant readers, if you could have one boss return revamped for a hardcore level 80 raid, which would it be?

A couple of others mentioned before (VC and Kara) are great ideas. I would also like to throw High King Maulgar from Gruul's lair. I loved that boss (specifically, since I play a mage as my main, Krosh Firehand)
I also would like to see Gnomeregan redone, and we Gnomes taking back our city!

you know, i think more than a boss being revamped, i'd like to see regions of the game world... i'm thinking grim batol, darkwhisper gorge, and others, these places that are full of elites that are really just doing nothing... put them to use! :)
I also think that level 80 class quests would be great, even just revamped versions of the level 60 ones... i always think its fun to see npc's like simone the inconspicuous wandering around, and it makes me think that doing something like that again would be great

Mmm... I'd love to see a critter boss. Give me the bunny of death!

You should head on over to Grizzly Hills and start slaughtering deer. ;)

The most epic quest chain in the game is not ending with Onyxia, but with the opening of Ahn'Quiraj. Or as of today, I guess most does it to obtain the cooking recipie of the 1000(?) pound chicken, or just to kill Eranikus at the end of the green line. Personally I like the blue line best, for its very well done storyline.
It trumps the Onyxia chain easily.

I would like to see Kil'Jaedan OUT of his Puddle this time.

MC MC! Rag and all the gang!
Squirr3llywrath9 Aug 16th 2009 12:45PM
Blackheart the Inciter, because AoE MC makes everything fun, or something more likely, Arugal. SFK has always been one of my favorite instances.

CATACLYSM seems to be on the theme of using old zones of Azeroth that were ideas, but then abandoned for a later date......The Greymane Wall, Uldum, etc.
Well, there is that instance door inside of SW that goes to nowhere, and that prison locked down in the middle of the canals, guards and everything, yet no access. I've heard it said that this was originally planned to be a high-level version of Stockades.
If we can tear apart Org and re-build it, we can add something there.

I never really got to experiance Molten Core, so I'd like to see that revamped into a lvl 80 raid.

ZG ZG ZG ZG ZG ZG ZG
I can't say it enough. My favorite instance in the game is ZG. Bring it back. Bring back a new ZG armour set, and the trinkets off Hakkar and the set trinkets like the rogue one.

I would like to see the epic quest chains put back into the game using higher level dungeons. Not hard-mode. Hard mode feels like to me lets slap on some more HP to the bosses and then add a few elements. Make people work for it. I would love to see the old world dragons come back could even argue that lore wise once with the death of Yogg-Saron, and the defeat of Agalon a surge of contained power was released back into Azeroth and the dragons have reached their true power.

I want new bosses to be made and would rather have Blizzard spend resources in that direction. The new stuff is what keeps me playing not rehashing things I did way too many times 2-4 years ago.
Onyxia had her time and cool part in the story but I think bringing her back for the reasons stated is Blizzard going down the wrong path.

Stratholme.
I know that rivendare is a horseman and we just got CoS, but that remains my favorite vanilla dungeons of all time.
BurningNad Aug 17th 2009 11:35AM
Vaelastrasz!!
Probably my favorite fight from Vanilla WoW.

i want to see SM revamped to lvl 80, the scarlet crusader is in northrend so lore wouldn't be to hard, and then they could add some new scarlet gear sets... IMO that set is amazing. who hasnt tried to collect the whole set one time or another?
