WoW Insider Show Episode 103: Lots in common
Great time on the show again last week -- Lesley Smith and Patrick Beja (of, err, all the stuff he does) joined Turpster and I last Thursday afternoon to chat about the biggest news in Warcraft recently, including what we've heard about the new expansion, Ghostcrawler's attempt at comedy, and the re-emergence of Onxyia. How exciting! And of course we chatted live with folks in the Ustream chat and answered all of your emails (which you can send along to us at theshow@wow.com).Next week, our show will be a little bit different. Instead of the usual Saturday at 3:30pm show, because of BlizzCon, we'll instead be doing a live broadcast straight from our meetup on Thursday evening at 7:30pm Pacific. It won't be a formal show -- rather, it'll be your chance to sit in on the meetup, and meet and greet some of our bloggers live in video person. Both Turpster and I will be there (along with a bunch of other folks from the WoW.com staff), so if you can't make it to BlizzCon, you can still tune in and see what it's like and chat with us (we'll try to save some giveaways for you, too).
We're also planning two different live podcasts next weekend, one each night of BlizzCon, so stay tuned on the site for more information about those. We'll probably combine those into one for iTunes next week (so even if you can't be around live, you can still listen in). More on that later -- meanwhile, enjoy the show, and hopefully we'll see you via Ustream at the meetup on Thursday night.

I gotta say I'm real happy for the refactoring of this, as I never got a chance to run it properly before. I appreciate it might not suit everyone, but they do have to cater for all tastes, and it's one of the defining encounters in WoW.
Also there has also been quite a large update and this follows hot on the heels of this, consider it an extra, rather than the new direction of the game.

Just wanted to comment on the live feed, I actually find "geek" to be the derogatory term and "nerd" to be the "PC" term. Is this just me?

*Edit NOT the live feed. I was quoting Mike on accident. But everyone got the idea...

I'm surprised that people think that Patch 3.3 is "delayed" to December/January because of Patch 3.2.2.
There's typically a 4-5 month gap between each major content patch, so the earliest I would have imagined seeing 3.3 was December, and most likely January because of the holidays (if anybody remembers, the AQ patch went live January 3 for example).
This is all random speculation on my part, but here's the rough timeline we're looking at (for simplicity sake, I'm calling the new expansion Cataclysm):
Blizzcon - Cataclysm announced
November 2009 - Patch 3.3 PTR
January 2010 - Patch 3.3 live
May 2010 - Cataclysm beta
September 2010 - Cataclysm live

I know the pic is appropriate for the show, and nothing against the Onyxia revamp, but I will be glad when her pic is stopped being used for tons of articles, even ones that have nothing to do with her.

For those who were in the chat room after the show, I posted screenshots of Mike Schramm saying 'Anetheron is a "special" server' over on my home page as promised. http://www.hex.ms Thanks Mike for being such a good sport! -HEX-

Mike is always calling Turpster inimitable...and I was wondering what that means exactly...so here it is:
inimitable
not capable of being imitated: matchless

principle of "me" vs "I"
"I am the subject of the sentence, but the object of the sentence is me."

Patrick is dead wrong about the quest log. If you're going through and doing some low level quests for rep, at the same time your doing quests you need to level, there is a bunch of space taken up. 25 quests is ridiculously low for a quest log.

Beja jumped into my hate list after his complain about paladins.
I always keep my raids up. Always blessing. Then comes someone and says "Might plz" when I gave them Kings. And the mages complain about Wisdom. And then when I give Kings to Druids, the kitties complain about not getting might. And then the shaman drops a mana totem, removes Wisdom from everyone and I have to explain over and over again that mana totem overrides Wisdom.
Seriously, roll a paladin. Try to keep everyone happy in the raid. It's impossible. Anyone saying that never Pugged anything or simply rolled a "I just buff myself" class.
