I feel bad for all of the future pets that the undead will be bossing around. First, because in fantasy, animals are typically unsettled by the undead. Second, because canonically the undead have some empathy issues.

but undead animals might not be. Undead wolves, bears, pigs already are tameable. Spiders and bats seem good choices for cunning pets for undead.
