And also, I have to say...who cares about new race/class combinations? I mean it's nice and all but hardly something to get excited about, at least for me. I guess it has to do with balancing mechanics but to me it's not really a big selling point of a new expansion.

What you said. I mean, isn't this the 'logical conclusion' of bring the player, not the class / spec / racial? I wouldn't even be overly surprised if Tauren shrank and Gnomes grew.
I've been around since vanilla (still having fun), and there have been so many changes (especially lately) that I'm numb.

If they really are revamping old world Azeroth, it gives existing players a reason to bring another alt through the new starting content. It helps split the playerbase at launch up a bit, too--those who aren't interested in rolling a goblin, worgen, or troll druid just for aesthetics and aren't interested in being a lowbie again can start working their main up to the new level cap and running the new high level instances. It helps avoid bottlenecks, just like providing two Northrend starting zones.

Couldnt have said it better JPN... Maybe for "new" players, but for those playing 2-4 years+. You (Blizzard) really think we are "eager" ROLL ANOTHER alt. with same stuff, new look?
Also i feel, Goblin and/or Worgen Death Knights would be silly...Lore-wise, game wise...
There is potential for many or even a few things, don't be "lazy" is all one can ask for.

"Yeah! Let's just give them new class/race combinations, thereby slightly changing the game visually!"

It really depends on what appeals to you. For a lot of people, this really will be a selling point of the expansion. For a lot of other people, they'll go "meh" and work on their mains.
One person I know has been playing since vanilla and is ready to eat his own arm off if this isn't true. He loves druid, but only picked tauren because his other choice was to go Alliance. There are a ton of Horde paladins who dislike having to be blood elves. Anyone who feels shoehorned into a specific race because of the class they play will probably welcome this.
