Yeah, I can totally see how adding fighter jets and technology from sci-fi is comparable to a realistic leadership change (something that happens all the time in the fantasy genre) or races learning to take on new classes (something we do as real life humans constantly). Definitely nothing realistic about that.

Using your logic, everyone might as well get angry at authors for changing their stories for the purpose of progression.
