Razer announces the Naga MMO mouse

Technically the word is Sanskrit for "snake," and especially since most of Razer's mice are already named after scaly reptiles, we suppose it works. But given that the mouse is supposed to be designed for MMO gameplay (it has a twelve button thumb grid, supposedly to keep your hands off of spell buttons and on movement buttons where they belong), it's probably a happy coincidence that the name of the product is reminiscent of well-known villians in one very famous MMO. Good show, Razer.
They also have a new "mousing surface" (back when I was a kid, we just called them mousepads) called the Megasoma. Both are available right now, and they ain't cheap: $80 for the mouse, and $50 for the pad. But if you want to go high-end on a mouse, and the Naga strikes your fancy, there you go.

OMG... I NEED that! All those buttons on the RIGHT HAND... /Drool!
That is a thing of beauty. I've turned my nose up at most gaming mice but THIS looks like it will actually offer something for the Money.

Avrsion is now going to create the ultimate MMO mouse by duck taping a wolf claw to this mouse.

This looks more appealing that the belkin left hand mouse/keyboard.
jfofla Aug 19th 2009 5:17PM
I bought the Belkin, hated it, and returned it.

This is frakking stupid. The N52te blows this out of the water. 12 buttons for your thumb, pushing AGAINST the device you're trying to control and the precision you paid for.
The n52te offers 15 buttons for 4 fingers, plus a dpad for movement. None of which interferes with the operation of the mouse.
You can have this. I'll keep my n52te and 5 button mouse.
Clasifyd Aug 19th 2009 7:47PM
I've got the n52te as well, and it's quite awesome, but using BOTH of these would be just be unbelievable!
micgillam Aug 20th 2009 10:13AM
I disagree, Grendalsh. I use similarly-located thumb-buttons on my Lachesis, no control issues at all.
Ancalimon Oct 11th 2009 4:35PM
@Grendalsh, How hard do you mash your buttons? I agree with micgillam, i've used a mouse with butons on the side and didn't have any problems with control issues. now, if I were to madly mash my buttons like a kid on sugar, then sure, but most people without rage issues shouldn't have a problem.
