The BlizzCon schedule, EU style
So you're excited about the BlizzCon schedule, but being the EU has you confused on exactly when everything is going down? Worry not -- reader Elnaira of EU Stormreaver has updated the schedule, as you can see above, with the EU time zone calculations done for you. He used the GMT+2 timezone (since that's where Paris is right now, and where most of the EU server times lie), so if you're not in that timezone you'll have to do your own calculations, but this may help you if you're overseas and trying to decipher exactly when the events you want to see on the server stream will take place.
And the truth is that you're going to be staying up pretty late -- the conference will finish up around six in the morning there, so if you want to see all of the costume contests and Ozzy's concert on Saturday, better make sure you've got plenty of coffee and/or Red Bull on hand. And even if you fall asleep, don't worry: we'll have you covered.
Update: Here's one done by a reader with Australian times on it.
BlizzCon 2009 is coming up on August 21st and 22nd! We've got all the latest news and information. At BlizzCon you can play the latest games, meet your guildmates, and ask the developers your questions. Plus, there's some great looking costumes.

Yeah, I made one myself, but the beauty of a self-made is the syncing. I made a Google Calendars one for GMT+2 zone and I can sync it up with my iPhone and make Google send me an SMS 5 minutes before a panel starts.

Great, i was hoping someone would do this.

Forget about being the EU, WE ARE SPARTA!
Sorry, couldn't help myself. /handslap

GMT+2? I don't know for certain, but Paris is either in GMT+0, as London, or GMT+1, as Berlin. Maybe you're confused by summer time?
Kemikalkadet Aug 19th 2009 4:30PM
The UK is currently in British Summer Time, which is GMT+1, Paris time (and therefore EU server time) is currently one hour ahead of UK time making it GMT+2.

Wow, I didn't know GMT also shifted when we changed the time ...

The easiest way is to use worldtimeserver.com's meeting planner. Throw California in as the first city, and then your own location. It will show you the time conversion in hour increments for the entire day.

Thank you very much, just what I needed! :-)
So 6:30, eh? Coffee machine, get ready for some action.

I just made my own version.
Made it in Excel and it should look nice enough printed.

The times should be in server time (gmt+1 dst), plus the live feed delay (so gmt+3).
I haven't doubble checked it though, but it should be correct.
Hope someone else also has use for it.

"that's where Paris is right now, and where most of the EU server times lie"
All of them actually. Not too up to date on how things work this side of the Atlantic I see.

Wow that's late/early. Going to be worth it though!

Very good. I will probably just hear the news the next day, but then again if I put my confidence in this great website, I should be hearing about Cataclysm before I go to bed!
.. maybe
Rakah Aug 19th 2009 10:21PM
hmm no broadcasting time on the new schedule?
Safrienaer Aug 20th 2009 9:46AM
I just hope that the stream will be viewable at decent times the next day... I don't feel like screwing up my sleep rhythm mere days before I start school again.
