The *only* potential problem with this is the situation where one person wins 2-3 of the rolls while someone else wins none. I prefer the system where everyone rolls at the end and "top X get shards." Granted, both methods are "fair," but the second one is much less likely to leave a bad taste in the mouth.This is for BoPs, of course.
