I disagree with that method because then you could conceivably have 1 person get every single item. I much prefer the enchanter handing out shards afterwards because then it is more likely for everyone to benefit. Further, if I'm the disenchanter then people who got an upgrade on the run (rolled need) are not eligible for shards.
