BlizzCon 2009: Cataclysm race-class combo matrix online

With official word that there will be new race-class combinations in World of Warcraft: Cataclysm, Blizzard has posted the official matrix of what races will have what classes available to them. Big surprises so far include Worgen Druid and Goblin Shaman!
The full matrix is above, and the text list below. All of our previous speculation was correct, so this should give rerollers plenty of opportunity to experience the new, shattered realm of Azeroth!

Troll Druid makes me the happiest person ever.
No wait, werewolves does.
I am willing to be a stinking alliance if I can be a werewolf.

I've always wanted to be a druid but I hate cows. And nelves are out of the question.

agreed with it all. except for the night elf part. they weren't out of the question, but i had such an aversion to alliance for a while that my druids never got past level 10.

and i'm not really excited for goblins to be honest. not quite sure why but i think it has to do with their annoying voices (never rolled a gnome either for the same reason i guess).

Personally I think Troll Druid is failboat and druids should be only one race per side, but what can I do when Blizz has spoken.
I just hope that Blizz comes up with a decent explanation for the new race-class combos, such as learning it from other races and not "It was always that way"
If they go that way, it seems it should be called Ret-Con" and not Blizz-Con."

just so you know if no one has posted this before, if you go to the world of warcraft home page, www.worldofwarcraft.com and click on the big picture of NEFARION!!! (OMG HE'S AWESOME) it will take you to the cataclysm page with the trailor and screen shots and artwork.

That's not Nefarian, that's Deathwing, Nefarian's father. Nefarian is dead on the floor of Blackwing's Lair, a level 60 raid. Deathwing has never been seen in-game yet.

the name is close Deathwing's real name is Nelfarion.... slightly different than his son Nefarion.

Given the Belfs had to steal it to bring it to the Horde, the only way to justify it would be either they learned it from the Belfs or they learned it from the Naaru

They learned it from the Argent Crusade. That's the most reasonable explanation I (and many others) have come to believe.

The tauren are going to start following the sun instead of the nelfs moon, which is how the pally/priests are loreified, i heard this might also affect and or change the tauren druid powers, ex. Moonfire --> Sunfire

Troll druids!! All I can say is, now I'm really excited to finally roll a druid. Don't like Taurens and Night Elves, well, they're Alliance. 'Nuff said.
Still holding out for playable Murlocs someday...

I don't really agree with Troll Druids. While shapeshifting is the the essence of the druid gameplay mechanic, it hardly is the essence of druidic lore. It makes no sense why the knowledge and power bestowed by Cenarius upon the Night Elves and the Tauren would now be used by trolls and worgen. If shapeshifting were the essence of druidism, then bosses that shapeshift or change their appearance would count as druids too.
Druidism is about a peaceful link to nature, a bond of understanding. There is also the fact that druidism=/= shamanism. Trolls have a link to the elementals, servants of the old gods. Druids have a stronger tie to the Emerald Dream which is titan made, and not to mention home of the Green Dragonflight. Why would a race known for it's affinity to the servants of the old gods now have the ability to walk the Azeroth Schematic made by titans and carefully guarded by the Green Dragonflight?

Still blows my mind that not only did the completely logical Draenei Druid not get announced, but there's NOTHING for Draenei...What the hell, Blizzard? ~_~
