BlizzCon 2009: Cataclysm - Zones video
We've got video from Cataclysm, giving you flythroughs of a number of zones, both new and old, featured in the expansion. The Barrens, Ashenvale, Darkshore, Desolace, Stonetalon Mountains, Gilneas, and the Lost Isles are shown, and for the old Azeroth zones, great transitions between the old and new terrain is featured.
We'll have more videos for you as the day goes on, but for now, enjoy the view, and appreciate the grand scope of this expansion!

GOD I WANT TO SEE WHAT HAPPEND TO THE ELFS AND GNOMES
Barinthos Aug 21st 2009 6:34PM
Damn, and here I was hoping to view some awesome zone vids...
Oh well, i'll wait patiently for it to get resolved
Rabidgun Aug 21st 2009 6:36PM
The video is not available. ='[
Rabidgun Aug 21st 2009 6:38PM
Hurrah! Its working!
Dalrint Aug 21st 2009 6:38PM
Since I can't watch it (and wouldn't anyway)...
How 'done' do the zones look?
Basically, are we looking at another year before the expansion, or the 'one year one expansion' thing they were aiming for?
Jonathan Aug 21st 2009 6:42PM
Very, but considering the limited scope of the video, that could be deceptive. It looks incredibly far along either way, though.
usagizero Aug 21st 2009 7:03PM
Not sure why you got voted down, a while back they did say they planned on one expansion a year. Looking at this one and the 85 level cap could mean they are aiming at that again. I'm sure this expansion took a ton of work, but if they halve the amount of levels and required content to fill those levels, it could mean that.
I'd be up for that for sure.

I'm not sure why I got voted down either...
Maybe cause I won't watch the video? It's not the videos fault, I just don't want to see the zones before I'm actually IN them...

Does Gilneas remind anyone else of London, or is it just me?
Kylenne Aug 21st 2009 6:43PM
I was totally thinking that as I watched.
Also, like something out of an old school Castlevania.
Alja Aug 21st 2009 6:49PM
it really does - It makes me uber excited to start a worgen. Although I don't know if I should level the toons I have first :( soooo many decisions.
Trent Aug 21st 2009 7:23PM
What a horrible night to have a curse.
Steve Aug 21st 2009 7:34PM
IMO, Gilneas is the coolest looking zone Blizz has designed yet. And I vowed never to play a lolworgenlol, what am I to do!?
Chris Anthony Aug 21st 2009 9:09PM
Not surprising. Gilneas's architecture is strongly influenced by, if not directly drawn from, the English Gothic Revival style, which reached its peak in mid-Victorian London. :) (The Gothic part is why you keep seeing comments that Gilneas looks like it's full of cathedrals.)

When my druid see's what the horde has done to ashenvale many, many, many orcs will have large pieces of thier anatomy shredded..........
Alja Aug 21st 2009 6:45PM
I know - I weeped a lil' on the inside when I saw Ashenvale
Zarzuur Aug 21st 2009 6:46PM
I agree, the Horde are killing Ashenvale ;(
But the rest looks great :D
