We've got video from Cataclysm, giving you flythroughs of a number of zones, both new and old, featured in the expansion. The Barrens, Ashenvale, Darkshore, Desolace, Stonetalon Mountains, Gilneas, and the Lost Isles are shown, and for the old Azeroth zones, great transitions between the old and new terrain is featured.
We'll have more videos for you as the day goes on, but for now, enjoy the view, and appreciate the grand scope of this expansion!

honestly i think of all the horde characters, (with an exception to undead-stupid falling anywhere and underwater breathing) the goblins are the coolest thing the horde could have asked for

My first character leveled in Desolace. It was so gray and melancholy, I nicknamed it Depressolase.

Did anyone else think that while the lost isles were very pretty, they also looked extremely cartoonish, even by WoW standards. The rest of the zones were rather nice, especially the dark feel to Gilneas.

One thing I'm curious about is all the changes to Kalimdor. After all, the Cataclysm was caused by Deathwing's emergence..in the Eastern Kingdoms. How did it spread so far west? After all, it's said the Southern Eastern Kingdoms was largely unaffected. I can only assume the damage in Kalimdor wasn't caused by Blackwing directly, but rather by Ragnaros being freed from the Elemental Plane and wrecking havok in Hyjal.
I know Blackwing is powerful, but methinks there is more happening here.

I thought that they were going to make just a few tweaks to azeroth and add gilneas, hyjal and all those new zones...

Gilneas reminds me of the City of Rain from the 1998 PC RPG Silver and the lost islands bring back happy memories of Phantasy Star Online ep1's Forest and ep2's Beach and Jungle minizones.
Barrens now needs to have a new general chat though, hosted by Feral Spirit....

Wow, I'm blown away. Or should I say, the Barrens have been blown away? Regardless, finally nice to see something more bearable to play with in Desolace...I really dislike that zone, always have.
As for the rest, amazing, simply amazing.

Gilneas looks fcking sweet...I'll def be rolling a Worgen if only to play through there!
I'm also going to love flying through the old world!
Still some of the lore aspects of this next expansion make me want to puke. Thrall is the next gaurdian? Logically...the orcs aren't even of this world...why would the Council of Tirisfal pick an orc...any orc...even Thrall...to be the guardian?
AND THEN...why would Thrall STEP DOWN as Warchief and then hand the mantle to GARROSH, who is, quite possibly, the biggest douche in all of Warcraft. Garrosh is going to single-handedly destroy everything Thrall has worked for.

Maybe Thrall figures that giving Garrosh full leadership of, and more importantly, responsibility for, the Horde will make him act more responsibly. But... I doubt that'll work.
Also, the rumors were saying that Thrall would be leading some joint Alliance/Horde efforts. I can't imagine Varian Wynn liking that too much.

I think we all know what the cataclysm really is, Deathwing, in an act of desperation decided to destroy the planet. This is only because after Deathwing killed Thralls best friend (Krillin) he fulfilled the legend and became a super saiyan!

good god, Gilneas looks amazing. TOTALLY not what I was expecting, and in a good way. I half expected just another shiny, bright, good looking Alliance town. Surpassed my expectations in every way.
If they didnt put in the Worgen in this x-pac, that would have made a STELLAR Forsaken zone, if placed somewhere else.
