Be warned, below there be spoilers!
Worgen
Classes available: warrior, hunter, rogue, priest, death knight, mage, warlock, druid. Currently only male character models available.
Customizations: fur color, face model, hair (or mane if you prefer), hair color, and one customization option that doesn't yet change anything. All colors are gray and blue tones, with dark, rainy, gothic scene in the background.
Flavor text: The Worgen were first unleashed upon the Eastern Kingdoms by Archmage Arugal during the Third War. Primarily used as a weapon against the Scourge, the beasts soon proved to be a burden greater than the humans of Lordaeron could bear. A mysterious curse began to spread among those who fought alongside the wolf-men, causing them to become worgen themselves. The curse rapidly spread as it reached Gilneas, trapping its inhabitants behind the very walls built to protect them. The survivors of the curse now seek to find a new fate for their people -- their destiny unwritten.
Racials:
Two Forms, instant, 1.5 sec cooldown, Turn into your currently inactive form.
Darkflight, instant, 3 min cooldown, activates your true form increasing movement speed by 70% for 10 sec
Viciousness, passive, increases all damage done by 1%.
Flayer, passive, skinning skill increased by 15 and allows you to skin faster.
Worgen starting zone begins with your character chained up and Royal Chemist Krennan Aranas promising to help find you a cure.
Krennan Aranas says: I'm not giving up on you, <player>. I don't have a cure for the Curse yet... but there are treatments. You'll have control again."
Lord Godfrey says: Give it up, Krennan. It's time to put this one down. It's protocol.
King Genn Greymane says: Tell me, Godfrey. Those that stayed in Gilneas City so that we could live. Were they following protocol?
King Genn Greymane says: I didn't think so. Now hand me that potion, Krennan... and double the dosage.
Quest: Last Chance at Humanity
I need you to pull through, <player>. This dosage is strong enough to kill a horse.
But I know you. I know what you're made of. You will be fine.
Trust me. I know what you're going through.
Now drink up and close your eyes.
After drinking the potion, you become human again, and can enter the starting town of Duskhaven.
Quest: Among Humans Again
Ah! Look who's decided to join the ranks of men once more! It looks like Krennan's potion finally worked. Either that or all these earthquakes scared you back into being a human!
It's a good thing. I'd hate to have to shoot you after all you did for us.
Go see Krennan Aranas, <player>. He's going to be happy to see you made it alive.
Quest: Among Humans Again
It worked! By the Light, it worked!
Goblins
Classes available: warrior, hunter, rogue, priest, death knight, shaman, mage, warlock. Currently only male character models available.
Customizations: skin color (green tones), faces, hair, hair color, and one customization option that doesn't yet change anything.
Flavor text: Originally the slaves of jungle trolls on the Isle of Kezan, the goblin race was forced to mine Kaja'mite ore out of the undermine, deep in the bowels of mount Kajaro. Unbeknownst to anyone at the time, the mineral had magical properties that caused the goblins to rapidly increase in both cunning and intelligence. Tinkering their own powerful artifacts of engineering and alchemy in secret, the goblins overthrew their troll oppressors, taking over the island that they now call home. quickly rising to prominence as masters of mercantilism, goblins and their global trade conglomerates dominate all commerce across Azeroth.
Racials:
Best Deals Anywhere, always receive the best possible gold discount, regardless of faction.
Better Living Through Chemistry, Alchemy skill increased by 15.
Pack Hobgoblin, Instant, 30 minute cooldown, Calls in your personal servant, allowing you bank access for 1 min.
Rocket Barrage, 30 yd range, Instant, 2 min cooldown, Launches your belt rockets at an enemy, dealing 30 fire damage.
Rocket Jump, instant, 2 min cooldown, activates your rocket belt to jump forward.
Time is Money, cash in on a 1% increase to attack and casting speed.
Goblins start in a tropical zone, very brightly colored zone, on a raft -- your player character seems to be passed out... or dead.
Doc Zapnozzle says: Fajardo, what are you doing just sitting there? Don't you recognize who that is laying next to you?!
Doc Zapnozzle says: That's <player>! He's the whole reason we're sill breathing and not crispy fried critters back on Kezan.
Geargrinder Fajardo says: That's <player>?! Sorry, Doc, I thought he was dead!
Doc Zapnozzle says: Stay back, I'm going to resucitate him! I hope these wet jumper cables don't kill us all!
Doc Zapnozzle says: That's all I've got. It's up to him now. You hear me <player>? Come on, snap out of it! Don't go into the light!
Quest: Don't Go Into the Light!
It's up to you now. Are you going to come back to life and be the hero that your fellow survivors need you to be, or are you going to rest for eternity here?
Only you can decide.
Don't go into the Light, <player>!
After this, your character returns to his feet.
Doc Zapnozzle says: You made the right choice. We all owe you a great deal, <player>. Try not to get yourself killed out here.
Doc Zapnozzle says: there are more survivors to tend to. I'll see you on the shore.
Quest: Goblin Escape Pods
<player>, I'm sorry, I thought you were dead!
This is just crazy. We sailed into a fight between the Alliance and Horde!
You know, our brothers and sisters still need to be rescued.
<He points out all of the escape pods in the water around you.>
I think I'm going to sit here a while longer and catch my breath. Can you swim around and let them out? Take my pair of thermohydratic flippers so you can get around faster.
You swim through the water -- quite quickly -- rescuing your fellow Goblins and dodging the occasional shark.
Quest: Goblin Escape Pods
Oh, thank heavens that you survived, <player>! I thought for sure that you'd drowned when I saw you go over the side!
<Sassy's eyes fill up with tears as she hugs you.>
Look at all of these folks you saved!
<Sassy looks down, rummages around and pulls out a satchel, handing it to you.>
I almost forgot. I kept some of your stuff. Just in case you made it.

So I thought it was a red herring. I was wrong. I gave Blizzard too much credit.
Massadonious Aug 21st 2009 4:15PM
Oh noez, they can't enjoy this information now because they were wrong.
Oh wait, yes they can.
Nick Aug 21st 2009 5:55PM
(How many 'Nick's are there, dammit?)
Yeah, I agree. This is gonna be amazing! Horde are stuck with GOBLINS! But the Goblin Racials are AMAZING... Still, Worgen get ridiculous +skinning, a racial sprint, and two forms. Makes me want to be a druid. Gotta catch all of the forms!
Sehvekah Aug 21st 2009 7:50PM
Good lord, after all the inkering they've done to racials for others races because they were "over powered" or "made things too easy", they go and drop these ones? Worgen get shapeshifting, sprint and +1% damage, and Goblins get, well they get what are, hands down, the best damn racials ever made(+1% haste, free Blink, free rocket attack, free bank access every half-hour, premaniant "exalted" discount for all qualifiing purchases). If that isn't "re-reoll with a Goblin" bait I don't know what is.
I just hope I'm far enough away when the nerf-bat swings their way. I may never roll a Goblin(time constraints, mostly. Same reason I probably won't roll a Worgen), but even just having read that awesomenes, there mere thought of it being nerfed hurts.
Mitawa Aug 22nd 2009 1:01AM
You can't really count "Shapeshifting" as a racial because it doesn't actually do anything. It's just cosmetic. Really, it seems like Worgen got the short end of the stick, really. Aside from the fact that Dash will be crazy useful in some situations. So we have:
Worgen: Dash, Skinning and 1% damage
Goblin: Rep-free discounts, alchemy, remote bank access, racial fire nuke, racial blink.
Three racials, one of them just a profession buff vs. FIVE racials, all of them useful to greater and lesser degrees.
Goblins cheat.

Re: Racist racials?
It's cus GC and pretty much the ENTIRETY of Blizz staff are Horde. I think they're the only people who play Horde. It's kind of pathetic really.
Nick Aug 24th 2009 10:41AM
Sehveka, the Goblin and Worgen racials aren't the only OP racials. They said at Blizzcon they were beefing up all racials. I can only imagine what Gnomes get. Magic Goggles racial?
Luthielle Aug 24th 2009 4:17PM
@Sehvekah At one of the Q&A panels at the con, Blizz mentioned that they would be upping the skills of the other races to make up for how many the goblins and worgens have. Also, the game is hardly finished; I'm sure this is just a peek at what is to come. No need to panic yet, I'd say ^__^.
Kerag Aug 21st 2009 3:21PM
Cannot wait to see.
JPN Aug 21st 2009 3:21PM
