BlizzCon 2009: The Cataclysm trailer
The Cataclysm cinematic, as first shown this afternoon at the BlizzCon 2009 opening ceremonies, is pretty darn epic (as all of Blizz's cinematics have been, really). If you haven't gotten a chance to watch it yet, fear not - there are options. You can watch it embedded above in this post, or you can head on over to Blizzard's official site and watch it streaming or download a high-quality version.
And you definitely should watch it if you haven't yet. There's a ton of good information right here on WoW.com, but a video is worth quite a lot of words. There's even a gnome in this one! (A priest, near the end.) Not to mention goblins, which I hear are the new gnomes. I am incredibly excited.
BlizzCon 2009 is here! WoW.com has continuing coverage, bringing you the latest in Cataclysm news, live blogs, galleries, and reports right from the convention floor. Check out WoW.com's Guide to BlizzCon for the latest!

I hope you don't mind, but I'd like to share with you my italian dubbing of the latest World of Warcraft - Cataclysm trailer.
In the past I dubbed several WoW trailers, now unfortunately not available for streaming, including the Wrath of the Lich King cinematic. I hope you like this one :)
You can watch it on Vimeo in streaming here: http://vimeo.com/6219724
Or download the HD version here: http://www.darksithlords.it/artanis/WoW_Cataclysm_Trailer_Italiano_ByArtanis_HD.avi
Let me know what do you think about it !

While everyone gets hyped about goblins and worgens, I am going WTFBBQ over the water reflections for the next 12 months.

I don't count the recycled Azeroth as "new" per se. It's the same zones they are just tweaking to allow flying mounts. Plus since everyone gets these regardless if they get xpac or not, you can't really count it as part of the xpac. So 1-2 new starter zones for the new races, Uldum, and a zone in the ocean hardly (to me) beats either previous xpac for content.
Seems Blizzard going back to pre-BC philosophy of Raiding Is Good. There are people that don't raid for various reasons, is why some 10 mans and heroics were so popular. Adding more raid content (which will most likely be for 85) really won't do anything for a significant chunk of the playerbase. I know people who have been playing for years and still haven't been to Naxx, simply because it doesn't interest them.
Blizz claims they been working on this since before Wrath's launch. If that is so, I am very unimpressed with it so far as it smacks to me of laziness. Recycling existing content is not "new" content.

Who says the "Azeroth flying trainer" wont be somewhere that requires the expansion to access? :)

So.... you guys have advertising for WoW Gold inside your WoW Cataclysm trailer?
Nice Work.

About a third of the way through the trailer, when the narrator starts saying "new conflicts erupt," there's a shot of a Tauren town on top of a mountain with an elevator. Any idea where this is. Too small to be TB, and I don't think it's Thousand Needles, because of all the trees around (and the rumors that TN will be flooded). A new outpost in Stonetalon maybe?

I am thrilled to have Goblins playable, and Worgen. Looks great to me but i agree the voiceover is comically silly. I always hate the epic music monster truck naration voiceover though and think I'm in the minority there.

If they put the Azeroth flying trainer in the new zone, forcing you to buy the xpac, that would be a rather cheap way to force you to buy it. I mean, what are they gonna do call it Warm Weather Flying? Cold Weather Flying was a simple money sink, they tried to pass it off as a way for you not to fly over the lovely zones they made. It actually irked a lot of people especially thos with 300 riding that had to "downgrade" to a ground mount for 7 levels.
So flying in Azeroth will probably appease those people. Making "warm weather flying" only available in the xpac area would annoy more people. They WANT you to buy the xpac so making you happy will keep you subscribing.

Yep. That's capitalism.

I like the music, like the look of it, and love the lore of it. It's about time they got back to finishing the old world and the story. We've been on pause with tbc and wotlk basically, cause everyone knew Illidan was bad and up to no good, everyone knew arthas was bad and up to no good, but Deathwing, he is insane and there is no telling what he is up to, world enslavement, or world destruction. Deathwing is on a level far beyond arthas and illidan. And I'm glad they gave alliance worgen, and not those idiotic care bear panadarians.

Translucent dragon! Can we ride it!?
Yes. I do want a translucent dragon mount. D:

Eh i dont know about the new "re-vamped" zones, its definitely a risk, however I do agree that places like The Barrens need a facelift. I do like change and its refreshing to see something new such as a giant ass lava river down the middle of Kalimdor, but I think it may be a little too bold. No matter the lava, I cant wait and it looks like a hours upon hours of fun.
Usdom Aug 26th 2009 6:59AM
I don't think I like the way the new lands look. It will make traveling difficult at lower levels. Just look at the barrens. There are massive lava filled rips in the land. More stuff to waste time walking around everywhere I go? No thanks.
Usdom Aug 26th 2009 7:01AM
On the other hand, we will have tauren paladins to make fun of so it can't be all that bad.
Matt Aug 29th 2009 4:16AM
I don't think the changes are going to happen like people think. I think it would be phased like they have done in WOTLK. It wouldn't change right away like people lead to beleive, because how would people without the expansion play?
splodesondeath Sep 1st 2009 1:16PM
Well, this was kind of shocking, just reading it now...
Things which bug me for silly reasons:
I want a troll druid so damn bad, but I don't want to delete my level 74 Tauren one.
Therefore, I want more character creation options!
Anything between fourteen and twenty would be sick.
Second, I will miss old Barrens! And I feel that at least part of this crazy, firey destruction (too much fire in that trailer) should be phased so that WoW newbs can experience a bit of old content (there always will be WoW newbs).

To all of you who said "theres way to much lava, it seems like a eyesore", what is wotlk? Every region has snow, and im not complaining. Also, there is going to be underwater areas so the regions they are in will most likely be lava-less. *shrug* I dont seem mind but i guess im going to have to wait and see.

i love this game

Rumor has it that Raw Leiba has been offered a role in the new 'WARCRAFT' movie what part do you think he will play?
