@Lyssanuer:Have you ever read a novel that wasn't a video game tie-in?Because that's the only explanation I can think of for why anyone could possibly think War of the Ancients was passable, much less "couldn't put it down": absolute unfamiliarity with what actual quality fantasy writing looks like. It reads worse than the terribad Sailor Moon fanfiction I wrote when I was 14. Hell, even by the admittedly low standards of video game tie-in novels it was absolute dreck. War of the Ancients made the Baldur's Gate official novel look like Shakespeare.Look, I'm a genuine MSTie and a connoisseur of B movies and trash lit and I couldn't even get through this trilogy. And I've read John Ringo novels for the lulz.
