Aha! Finally we know what that small zone is above Elwynn Forest. Also the extra bit of land at the bottom of Kalimdor.

Actually, looking closer it looks more like Deathwing Scar or something...I'm almost positive Deathwing is the first word though.

Yep, it's Deathwing Scar. It was mentioned in one of the panels that the DirecTV PPV covered.

Though, what about the Maelstrom itself? It seems a lot of those islands are directly in it. Did it just suddenly stop being a giant whirlpool? >.>

I don't think it ever was a whirlpool, I'm pretty sure it was a massive hurricane times 20 storm.

I know they mentioned Tol Barad as a PVP zone and daily quest center so I highly doubt they'll leave out Kul Tiras, I think its just a matter of where they fit it in. It also might be something they add in a later patch.
