Any news of Mage fragility being brought in line with the other classes?

I'd love to have a collection of party wide defensive spells. Instead of hiding behind the pillar, how'sabout the party hides behind the mages shields? That'd make for an interesting twist to the game and bring in some useful new Mageness to raids :)
