BlizzCon 2009: Dance and soundalike contest videos

We brought you the video from the costume contest earlier tonight. Now, as requested, here are Turpster's videos of the dance contest (above), and the soundalike contest (after the cut). I have to say, I watched the soundalike contest live, and it was really weird. Some of those contestants are creepily accurate.

yea, the same thing is happening for me =\ at the 2:17 mark, just goes blank for the rest of the movie =\ also, mc hammer dude was pro

Considering that the music ended perfectly I think there's either a missing montage or the video length is longer than the footage and wasn't cropped down properly?

I wonder if they screen the people before they go onstage or if they just let anyone wander up there.
And just cause u can do a scary deep voice....deosn't nessecarily mean it matches the scary deep voice of the character you're trying to imitate.

I didn't like the music they put over the video. :< Especially when it's covering up MC Frontalot's Hassle: The Dorkening during the male nightelf dancing.

Which soundalikes actually sounded alike again? The Kael'thas one was somewhat close (the second one, not the original Azerothian-Supervillain-esque Kael), but the rest were mostly eh.

I admit I was hoping to hear a good Sylvanas impersonation; maybe then Blizzard could hire someone rather than a sad old arthritic British nanny to redo her voice. Her new voice is so horrible, and I am sort of scared to hear her in the Icecrown instances/raid.

Many thanks to the Turpster for providing the videos, since the DirecTV stream cut off before the Dance contest had finished.
I had been under the assumption that there were more soundalikes, however, after the dance competition was over. Did they not carry it on after the dance contest ended?
Also, who won? Damned bad timing by the stream...

I watched part of the soundalike, then they took a break for the dance alike, then halfway through that, the directv people said 'nuts to this' and went home. So no idea what happened after that point.
Weird is the right word for the soundalike. >< I was oddly uncomfortable throughout both, but yet, still enjoying it. Some of the people in the dancing were quite good.
