BlizzCon 2009: The costume contest

If there's one thing we can't get enough of, it's World of Warcraft fans in elaborate, just-stepped-out-of-your-computer-screen costumes. (And even though this year's winner took her inspiration from Diablo 3, we can't hold it against her.) And BlizzCon certainly has its fair share of cosplay. But we're not going to waste your time with a bunch of words when there are so many pictures to show off -- enjoy our costume contest gallery, the next best thing to being there yourself. And, on the plus side, you didn't have to fight the crowds for a good seat!

MEETING STONE COSTUME DESERVED FIRST PRIZE!

First things first, as a professional photographer, please teach whoever took these low light photography sans flash. If it's the camera, renting a decent body with a fast lens will do wonders. This isn't some event that comes as a surprise and is a pretty big one press wise.
About the costumes, Sartharion was awesome, with a bit of Trogdor thrown in. ;) (should have been a runner up, along with the meeting stone). Kel Thuzad was my choice, but i have a love of puppetry. The winner was cool though, she was supposed to be a mistress of Pain from diablo 3 if i remember right. She did have the right amount of sexy with the right amount of impressive. I'll never understand what was up with the purple people eater guy though.

My choice for winner was the Mistress of Pain.
My personal favorites, though, were the meeting stone, Argent Gruntling, and Mother Shahraz. Especially Shahraz, I don't know what it was about her that I loved so much, but I did.
And yeah, way too many females up there seemed like they were trying to curry nerdfavor through being scantily-clad more than having innovative costumes. :-/

Heya, I was the first Prestor who appeared on stage, and both I and the other did draw our inspiration from Percula's amazing video "Blind". It was cool that it turned out she was announced as getting resurrected for the 5th year of WoW =)
