This video, which comes straight from this afternoon's BlizzCon Art Panel, shows off some of the environments Blizzard has put together for the Worgen, the brand new playable Alliance race. I love the look -- it's almost like Forsaken architecture, but before things went bad (or maybe with a hidden edge rather than a rotted look). We're not quite sure yet what these areas will be called -- most of it looks like what they're calling Gilneas City in the playable demos here on the floor.
But you'll probably agree that it does look excellent. We'll have another video coming up from the Art Panel soon, looking at the Goblins and what they've got sitting around their starting zones.
World changes are amazing. The insuing chaos of the cataclysm, awesome. But this was a bad day for the horde. We lose thrall, a ton of good players, and after being hit with your nelf trash from bc we're getting your gnome trash.
Plus metzen, MR THRALL, pointed out how cute the goblins were... how well they would fit with the horde?
The punker freak bad guys got Jar Jar and the jock good guys got monsters?
I love the look...it is Alliancey and welcoming, like the English countryside and London...but has a dark tint of mist, fog and rain. A nice contrast fitting the two forms of the inhabitants of Gilneas....Human and Worgen. I am happy to be Alliance on this day!
I cant wait!! i hope the Worgen are as popular as everybody thinks...that way i can roll a goblin knowing not everybody is a goblin, but a worgen! also goblins are awsome!!! to me at least.....eitherway, Worgen are looking kickass right now...and the starterzone is very...classic
So basically the Worgen starting zone and capitol is going have pretty much the same look and feel of Duskwood? Duskwood, AKA, the most kick-ass zone in the entire frickin' game? (my opinion, anyway)
Worgen just keep getting more bad ass every time new info comes out. That Worgen alt I'm planning (and saving a name for) just might end up being my new main.
It looks absolute tremendously classic and its architecture work is really awesome its really a master piece ...I think expansion would be announced in the recent future might be 3 months later next year lets hope for the best.................. http://www.electrocomputerwarehouse.com

I guess part of the reason I'm so excited is the fact I wasn't around Pre-BC, so I'm craving old world content much more then the older players.

Oh, and I love the music in both this and the Gilneas trailer on the Catacylsm site. It feels very apropriate.

These areas are indeed very beautiful. I don't foresee a problem hanging around this area for 6-12 months, or longer. Well done, Blizzard!

The shots of it from the trailer reminded me of Victorian-era London. Perhaps I should make a Worgen named Jacktheripper? :P
