Around Azeroth: Baby I wanna be first in line

Today on Alliance Gloating Theater, Julietmarie of <Molten Core Swim Team> on Velen is determined to be first in line at the Greymane Wall to welcome the Worgen into her faction. "Soon, new allies will come forth through that gate and the glory of the Alliance will grow even further, finally gaining that symbol of power that strikes fear into the heart of those who dare oppose us," she writes. "Kudos, Blizzard, for giving us what are essentially werewolves while the Horde get what are essentially very short trolls. Lorewise, both factions gain valuable allies. But aesthetically, Alliance wins hands down. Soon ... soon."

Goblins win why? Two words. Bank alts

6 words - Every thirty minutes. For one minute.

Makes you wonder what will happen when the Cataclysm happens, what if you logged out in the Barrens only to log back in finding yourself in a pit of fire or worse! Under the floor .\o/

My friend was just wondering where he could log out when Cataclysm come out. When Wrath came out he logged out in Dalaran (inside the bubble) and when he logged in, he was falling into the Dalaran crater. This time i suggested behind the Greymane Wall.

I would expect that we our toons might all be ported to their home city upon our first log in to Cataclysm.

"Short trolls?"
My goblin rogue now has an appointment with your kneecaps, which she will be attending with hammers.

Seriously. Not to mention lorewise it makes perfect sense for Goblins to join the Horde, and I'm frankly surprised they were not there from Vanilla WoW.
Sure a lot of the Goblins are neutral, but it would make no sense that at least some of them wouldn't throw their hats in with the Horde.
It's not like a large percentage of Trolls, Orcs, Humans, and Dwarves are not part of the Horde. And a smaller percentage of Tauren, Night Elves, and Forsaken.
The only race that I cannot think of having a descendant group that did not join their main faction was the Gnomes.
Leonffs Aug 23rd 2009 11:26AM
Wow what a new and fresh idea. It's as if there isn't a race already ingame that can do exactly that.

I have to agree; Alliance always seemed more aesthetically pleasing than horde. I miss playing on my dwarf, but seeing as how most of my friends play Horde, I might be stuck on my tauren. Then again, I could just ditch them for the worgen...with the new pug system, things would be much easier to get things done. Just gotta find a good raiding server for alliance...hmm...

Friends don't let friends roll Alliance.
Khremloc Aug 23rd 2009 10:14AM
Goblins don't have tusks, though. I myself prefer the goblins because they're essentially an addition to the Old-Horde (orcs, tauren, trolls, woop!). The Alliance can have the Worgen, hopefully it will drain the blood elf population.
Rudzy Aug 23rd 2009 10:18AM
Worgen certainly look interesting and I'll certainly play the starting zone to see the lore and such, but I won't be sticking around. I fear the furries will be taking over.
Dass Aug 23rd 2009 10:20AM
*sigh*
Blizzard is really killing me with the horde changes we're expecting. At least some intelligent people will be joining the Worgen ranks.
Actually, the fact I'm on an RP server seems to scare the unintelligent away. Even if I'm not doing it myself. Yay Sentinels.
Matt P Aug 23rd 2009 10:30AM
A lot of people seemed to be worried about that. I don't think it's such a big deal. My dwarf has been calling Wrynn an idiot since the Battle for Undercity. RPing a dissenting character is actually fun. Also, if you're worried about the people who maintain that the Horde are, and always have been the "bad guys," shouldn't you be used to them by now? They won't change their opinion even if Garrosh and Wrynn go on a picnic in the Moonglade and decide to be best friends forever.
Pivo Aug 23rd 2009 10:40AM
Matt, I'm not talking from an RP standpoint, as I don't do that. I play on an RP server because I find it has fewer idiots and noobs around. I mean the destroying Orgrimmar, Tauren Paladins, and inevitable population imbalance coming from the Worgen, who Blizzard seems to think will be about as popular as Goblins. Good point on those who consider the horde "bad guys". Except the undead. They are.
Pivo Aug 23rd 2009 10:40AM
woah. my name changed for some reason.
Matt P Aug 23rd 2009 11:12AM
Ah, gotcha. I guess I've never really considered population imbalances and other logistic issues because they don't really affect my playstyle. I hope everything works out for you.
And yes, the Royal Apothecary Society isn't a bag of sunshine and chibi dolls. ;)
Mackgyver Aug 23rd 2009 11:03AM
I've been playing horde for 2 years and slaughtered plenty of Allies and Worgen. Now blizz is just letting me kill two birds with one stone, or axe I should say.
Mackgyver Aug 23rd 2009 11:04AM
Maybe I just wasn't paying attention, but did Blizzard ever actually confirm Garrosh was taking over the horde?
mibluvr13 Aug 23rd 2009 2:20PM
In one of the DirecTV interviews, yes.
