Mmmm so they are situated on a peninsula to block one side with a wall to enclose it from the rest of the landmas. So the one thing that popped into mind was nobody has flown over it? Lore is lore as long as it makes sense. Thats' a big gaping hole unless I've missed something not having gone to that area since launch. Not plugging away at what was written here but just in general if this is all the available information about the area.

My guess is they'd shoot down anyone who attempted to fly over there. Since all you can use in Azeroth (right now) is taxis, the gryphon and bat masters would soon learn that you don't let your beasts fly over there. Sounds pretty logical to me.
