Great example of the idiocy that is the PVP servers. Thanks for reminding me why I deleted my toons from them.

then you arnt good at pvp. This is WHY I have my chars on pvp. Yes getting camped sucks, but its fun in a way too, adds something to it, other than just la-de-da, no fear of anything happening, keeps you on your toes.

@fearinlightI enjoy PVP quite a bit and I'm not even afraid to admit that I'm not very good at it. However world PVP in WoW is not even remotely what I'd call fun. In fact I'd even argue that it doesn't require all that much skill. At best it simply reinforces the fact that as long as you're a higher level and have better gear than the other player you'll most likely win.More than once I've been jumped by much higher level players that weren't just bad, they were embarrassingly bad. But that's just inconsequential because they only have to manage to hit me twice in order to kill me. I can draw the encounter out, I can run and try to hide or I can let them kill me and hope they don't like camping. But unless I fight a flawless fight (and I have now and again) the odds of me defeating someone in an uneven battle is very, very slim.As I see it then world PVP in WoW presents the gankee with an opportune time to take a bio break while the ganker shows of his mad skills on what amounts to a glorified target dummy.

@fearinlight: Actually, the opposite seems to be true. People play on PvP servers because they *aren't* very good at PvP. The only kind of PvP that's not found on PvE servers is forced world PvP, where gankers with no skill can win just by being either higher in level or higher in numbers. People who suck at PvP head to the PvP servers so they can at least win once in a while by staging incredibly lopsided fights.

My reasons for playing in PvP servers is based in what warcraft means to me. I was a fan of the warcraft series during its RTS roots. The way I see it, yes, people do get ganked on PvP servers, but it is exactly that sort of danger that makes the world feel... well... more dangerous.I know others enjoy the strictly PvE part of the game, and that is fine. This does not mean that PvP servers are ridiculous. It simply means that some people enjoy that extra sense of apprehension as they travel through the world of Azeroth. Also, from an RPG point of view, I don't really feel like I can truly immerse myself in to a world if all encounters with enemy factions have to be mutually agreed upon. That sort of thing just doesn't happen.
