So
BlizzCon is over for another year and the road to
Cataclysm stretches out in front of us. In Azeroth, things continue as they always do. Wednesday, as every
WoW player in Europe knows, is maintenance day and Blizzard have just announced their plans. Tomorrow will see scheduled maintenance, meaning all European realms will be offline from 3:00am until 11:00am (CEST). On top of that, a selection of realms will be getting extended maintenance to hopefully fix that annoying
instance-launching problem.
Aerie Peak, Anachronos, Boulderfist, Chamber of Aspects, Eonar, Frostmane, Grim Batol, Jaedenar, Kazzak, Kilrogg, Outland, Ravenholdt, Saurfang, Tarren Mill, Vek'nilash and Wildhammer will all be offline from 1:00am to 3:00pm (CEST) on Wednesday, and also from 3:00am to 7:00am on Thursday 27th August. The sheer length of this maintenance means that hopefully Blizzard might be close to cracking it, so hang on in there, okay?

Misery Battlegroup FTW.

not sure how bad the additional instances issue is for others, but for our small guild on khadgar realm we're finding that up until at least midnight, every night, getting in to a realm takes anywhere from 5-40minutes (usually we give up after 30-40mins).
upon logging this to GM they were kind enough to tell us that other realms /battlegroups had been fixed. Wow, thanks for that!

Mijithroulis Aug 25th 2009 7:35AM
On stormscale the "instances can not be launced's" seems to be gone for ever...
Elastoplast Aug 25th 2009 7:51AM
Yeah - no issues on Stormrage recently, either.
Except right now I can't even log in to the game as it says the "server is busy". :(

Where the hell is Bloodhoof?! >:[
Never thought I'd want a extended maintenance for my realm :(
Beaker86 Aug 25th 2009 8:16AM
Its been really bad on Doomhammer recently to the extent that my Hunter (feigned) death due to boredom after almost an hour of trying to get into WC!

They are finally fixing it on Eonar? And I just completed writing an addon that counted the number of bounces before entering an instance... Personal high score was 1001 bounces at AN a few days ago before giving up :) Might not be worth uploading the addon to Curse then.
Sierro Aug 25th 2009 8:48AM
Probably not, given there's already one there that does that exact thing.

Totally offtopic but..
am I the only one who can't stop looking at that picture? (I mean, Worgen, how cool! XD)

At first I was a little jealous that I'm getting goblins instead, but unless they fix the models for worgen, I am now quite happy. The new goblin faces look badass, while the furries look pretty cheesy.
getoff Aug 25th 2009 8:29AM
It's about time they fix Chamber of Aspects.

Aerie Peak (and probably the rest of the Misery battlegroup) has had an ever-increasing problem with instances (up until this maintainance, hopefully); getting into a Northrend instance could take anywhere between 2 and 20 minutes, but any dungeon or raid in Burning Crusade or Classic areas, unless attempted beyond midnight, would take well over half an hour, up to 2 hours.
Still, any sign that this is being fixed is great, even if it's been present since Wrath's launch. The proof will be in the practical test, tomorrow or Thursday.
