It was a hectic two days at this year's
BlizzCon with lots of revelations,
some good,
others awesome. Destruction is coming to Azeroth with the return of
Deathwing,
changing the face of the planet forever. While we won't see the game until
2010, the world will change entirely and cities will be revamped in order to enable them to be made flyable. However, there are several very important locations currently in-game (for the most part) which are going to be very important to the coming Cataclysm.
Check out our gallery below as we take you on a guided tour of some of the important places you should probably visit right now before they are changed forever.

So I noticed that there were several areas "being taken over by the horde". What's that all about. What's the alliance is getting out of this? (other than the super awesome werewolves)
Leviathon Aug 25th 2009 2:06PM
Both factions are making their own pushes and it just happens that the Horde pushes are the one see see the most right now. For example the Alliance have a fortification in Northern Barrens now and likely will in Silverpine also.
Barinthos Aug 25th 2009 2:22PM
With a war hungry douchebag like Garrosh calling the shots it's not out of the question for the Horde to assault and take settlements that Thrall didn't want to or cared to.
jealouspirate Aug 25th 2009 2:46PM
@ Barinthos
So far, from what we know, Garrosh seems to have actually finished what Thrall started. The Horde wanted to conquer Ashenvale long before Garrosh came around. Since the Horde have been there since Vanilla, we have to assume that Thrall sanctioned the conquest of Ashenvale.

@jealouspirate -
I thought that with the peace negotiations with Jaina, Thrall wanted to work out some kind of trade agreement with the alliance since they needed lumber.
Meh, either way, Garrosh will take it into his hands to assault any Alliance settlement he can since alliance are "scum". I'm horde myself and I think Garrosh is a toolbox to the Nth degree lol.
I might just stay on my Worgen when Cataclysm comes out.
Noralith Aug 25th 2009 3:32PM
With any luck, as time goes on, they'll start to show what (if anything) the Alliance took. There's really no way that the Horde could divert their forces to take so much land without losing some territory. Besides the camp in the Barrens, there's got to be more, yeah?
Elyxaar Aug 26th 2009 5:49AM
@Barinthos
If you think Garrosh is a toolbox, you should meet Wrynn... what an a-hat.
His feelings for the Horde are pretty much the same as Garrosh's for the Alliance, so I reckon there's going to be just as many Alliance incursions into Horde territory as the other way around.
Question is, what the hell are Thrall and Jaina up to and why aren't they keeping their rabid dogs on their leashes?
Todd Aug 26th 2009 9:30AM
Garrosh is a douche... he murdered Bloodhoof just because they didn't see eye to eye. When people in command start killing their own loyal faction members, then things have gone way downhill. It won't be long now until the whole Horde faction just dissolves. The Forsaken are doing their own thing. The Orcs are doing their own thing. The Tauren are probably confused, and still grieving. The Trolls... eh who knows?

definitly wanna go run through some of these places with my alts before they are gone. gonna be weird with everything changed
DigitalMonitor Aug 25th 2009 9:21PM
This is very true. When next year's Lunar Festival comes around, I'm going to take my time visiting each of the Elder's and turn the event in into my own Azeroth Remembrance Tour. **sniff**

I'm thinkin of starting a guild dedicated to doing as much of the old world content as possible before Cataclysm makes it all explode. The more you've seen of the old stuff, the cooler the new stuff will be :)
artifex Aug 25th 2009 2:29PM
You'll also have a ton of achievements that newbies won't be able to get, if that's your thing. :)

anwar87 Aug 25th 2009 2:11PM

Gnosh Aug 25th 2009 2:27PM
There are more punctuation marks.. in english.. than just ellipses..
there's the period.. and the semicolon.. you can also use en..dashes to separate thoughts in a sentence..
Wolftigerrosebud Aug 25th 2009 2:51PM
@Gnosh: Rofl. Win. Punctuation is too often overlooked in internet text; it drives me ... insane. (Pun intended.)

So there are rules regarding the use of dots when posting comments? Well I'll do as you please from now on.
BioHazard Aug 25th 2009 3:08PM
"So there are rules regarding the use of dots when posting comments?"
Yes. USE MORE DOTS!
... then stop DOTs.

Honestly It Looks As Silly As People Who Capitalize Every First Letter Of Every Word In Every Sentence.
Since you're trying to convey an idea, you would be far better off following some basic standards. You'll hit a far larger audience that way, thus increasing the chance that your idea is accepted and understood rather than tossed to the side.
Think about it this way- As we read your post we are basically "listening" to it in our head. Lots of people associate "..." with a nervous sigh or prolonged "note", if you will, at the end of a statement. Akin to listening to someone sickly, terribly bored, or disgusted talk about something.
That may not be what you're trying to convey, but a lot of people will take it that way and thus the overall idea you're trying to get across is changed.
That's just my two copper on etiquette of communicating via text.

@ROFLPanda
You missed a space before the dash in your post.
The comma after "note" isn't required - you only need commas after things in quotes if the quotes signify someone speaking. The sentence would read much better if it was:
"Lots of people associate "..." with a nervous sigh or, prolonged "note" if you will, at the end of a statement."
