BlizzCon 2009: Costumes, pt II

Elizabeth gave you heads up during the BlizzCon 2009 weekend that your intrepid WoW.com staff was keeping an eye on the amazing costumes on your behalf. We were even able to give you a huge gallery of the costume contest taking place, with great pictures as the cosplayers strutted their stuff on stage. Then, we were able to bring you the 2009 costume contest video to make sure you had a good idea of how the costumes looked in live action.
We've now updated our costume gallery with tons of extra pictures, with many of them focused on making sure you get to see the amazing detailing these cosplayers put into their outfits. From gloves to weapons, the cosplayers really raised the bar on how to do a "real life" interpretation of in-game gear. Check out the gallery and see it all for yourself.

well... Glad to see you didn't sully your journalistic integrity by using your status to take loads of photographs of unsuspecting and scantily clad young ladies.
wait did I say didn't.... :-P

I'm not gonna pretend to understand the appeal of cosplay, but it looks like great work on some of the costumes, so as long as they had fun, good on 'em.

After looking at the actual pictures from the costume contest I'm going to have to agree with Patrick from France, if I see another random girl in a succubus costume I'm going to kill myself. Can we have a moratorium on the attention whores next year? If not from Blizzard themselves, then at least the WoW blogs. You'll save loads of bandwidth.

Ugh yes i agree completely.
I am however really happy to see some men int he pictures as well...it would seem their outfits were more accurate and interesting and less 'look at mah boobiez!'.

The point of cosplay is the same point as Halloween. It's a reason for girls to dress up in as little clothing as possible and not feel trashy, and for guys to check out their naughty bits without feeling dirty. Guys dressing up in cosplay is so they get more chances to check out the naughty bits.
"Hey, Ladies, I'm one of you! Lets kick it."

pretty, but that eye color is a little too intense to be real.

I can't understand what that first picture is of.

The mistress of pains legs; she won the costume contest. I was backstage when they were assembling her; took about half an hour just from what I saw

10 to 12 seconds for each picture to load + 297 pictures = no thanks!

Stop clogging the tubes.

I like the couple of gratuitous cleavage shots in there. I think that Dwarf barmaid should win something for sheer believability! The creepy resto druid gimp suit was pretty awesome too, though... Dot, dot, dot... I mean hot, hot, hot (ZING)...

The girl in the Draenei costume with those intense heals seems to be the mascot for this years Blizzcon and for good reason, I'd love to see her NOT blue =P
Maori Aug 26th 2009 1:55PM
Heels rather than heals though I'd assume you can do the second fine.

The girl in Pic# 56 bears a resemblence to Mia Rose (the pornstar). Just sayin'.
regisfrost Aug 26th 2009 2:35PM
You know the name and face of a pornstar. Just sayin'.
squeama Aug 27th 2009 7:13PM
That IS Mia Rose. Just saying.
