We are continuing to get tips from readers that they are having login issues. If you are one of the many still having trouble logging in, commenter tknogk suggested flushing your DNS and Blizzard has backed this up with more detailed advice.

Any idea if this would effect my ability to download files from blizz? Such as the install files for the game. Also someone on the official forums was saying they had issues downloading patch 3.2 today.
I've tried all of the offered methods and they don't help. Also I can't ping us.logon.worldofwarcraft.com via cmd, so ehhhhhhhbleh...
any ideas?

of course...never THEIR fault...

Exactly, this is getting fucking old.
All these problems aren't client sided, its on their part and they don't give a crap. I bet it has to do with the B.Net accounts again.

Had this problem a few weeks ago on a Friday raid night, it had been going on all day and as far as I knew (since I had given up) late into the night, strangely the people who switched to the B.Net account were fine.
I did find a solution to my login woes though, Everquest 2, seems to login just fine now ;) That and Warhammer online with some of my other ex-wow friends from the guild and I've not been screwed over by the lax Blizzard support since.
(Seriously though, it was 3.2 and the grind for epics that gave me the final nudge, I was cheesed off though spending over an hour trying to get their crappy software to work, didn't even see a refund for that day. And for those people "why are you posting here", reason is I enjoy it, plus its still on my google homepage).

A few of my guildies had a similiar issue last night where they couldn't connect. All was fixed when they merged there account with Battlenet.

Being a victem of Windows Vista...I don't want to dare to "flush" anything incase of making my O/S "down the toilet." :(

It boggles my mind how often companies claim it's YOUR shit that's broken but never THEIR shit.
Zoulz Aug 27th 2009 3:56AM
..because most of the times, it is? :)

Honestly, the quickest and fastest way to solve this issue is to make a battle.net account. It seemed to work perfectly for every member in out Guild who had this issue. The battle.net accounts will be required anyway soon, so its a good opportunity to make one
AdamAldaine Aug 27th 2009 8:34AM
I can confirm this... I wasn't able to get on for the past 2 days, so I decided to give this Battle.net thing a try and once I tried logging in with the Battle.net info, it worked fine.
Matt Aug 27th 2009 10:05PM
Um, my battle.net account has been merged with WoW, and I had the same message pop up at me.. so no, it wasn't battle.net accounts alone.

I think it's funny that 85% of the questions players ask Blizz, the answer is the same.
Me personally, I have sent maybe 20 tickets about stuff. It takes a lot for me to send a ticket. The wait time is so long that usually by the time they get to the ticket, a patch fixes it. (yes....that's an exaggeration)
The one that gets me more than that is when you really need to talk to a GM about whatever bug, many dont even say hello. I just see the window at the top turn into a "you have been chosen for a survey. What do they want me to comment on lol.
The issues i send in are things like: Socket bonus on gear doesn't not get applied to my stats. Yes I made sure 20 times. Yes the colors are the right color.
Also my pet have 35 points to spend. With all the pet talents selected, I still have a 1 point left with no where to put it.
I think these kind of bugs are worth at least a hello. The tickets usually dont have the room lay out the full issue so i have to decide how to get all the important in the 5 lines.
Verc Aug 27th 2009 9:42AM
If you really want to talk to them, make sure you're using "talk to a GM", not "report an issue". They seem to take the latter as "don't talk to me" and you're more likely to get a survey unless they've got questions for you. Even if you do just get a survey, always check your email that's registered to the account, because they're probably going to send you something that answers your question, or at least lets you know they got it.

I tried rebooting the game and then my entire PC.
What finally fixed it though was, instead of just typing my password, I also retyped my account name.

same with Gareth. I might get back into Warhammer with some friends, at least until Old Republic comes out...
since i cant post contact info on here, google superthrust and drop me an email and lemme know what warhammer server your on! ill drop in. Or eq2, don't matter.
Turlagh Aug 27th 2009 5:11AM
@WarHammer guys: I know Blizzard isn't perfect, but I have had more crashes in WarHammer in the span of a half an hour, than I've had with WoW in two years. The CTDs probably account for a big chunk of the players leaving W:AR.

Cleared my DNS and it worked immediately.
