WoW Moviewatch: Project Chaos
The story of Project Chaos is fairly basic. In fact, the story seems largely irrelevent to me. It's there to set a mood and genre. To summarize it very quickly, though, the idea is that this old scientist found himself lonely and unhappy in his old age. He created a daughter for himself. At first, the townspeople assumed the daughter was normal and just like everyone else in the town, but only later discovered some sort of dark malevolence about her.
The technique that makes Project Chaos particularly interesting to me is its broad use of a first-person view through much of the movie. It gives Ollgabopi an opportunity to heighten the suspense with restricted scene views. It also lets him question the sanity of our protagonist, by making everything in the movie open to interpretation.
It's a fun video, and I was happy to see Ollgabopi appear in this year's contest.

I really don't see what's so special about it. He took FEAR and did it with WoW animations.

This feels a lot like F.E.A.R.

I'm so glad I'm not the only person who thought this - the video felt like it was entirely inspired by F.E.A.R. :D

Creepy.
Would have loved to have seen more.

There's nothing more creepy than little children in horror movies. That and dolls/puppets/clowns...

not my cup of tea, but liked the first person views

Yeah I couldn't help but think of F.E.A.R. when I watched this. It was pretty well done, but the things that got to me were the subtitles...some didn't match up at all. And the human womans voice near the end was clearly being pumped through speakers or something. Whether that was intentional or not it just didn't sound good.

That one woman's mic sucked.

It seems videos nowadays are all about showing off what you can do with editing, or how cool you can make it look. I could say the same for movies, but my point is, a lot of videos being displayed as awesome, or winning prizes are just not that great. A lot of them seem pointless. Maybe I just long for the days when people made awesome videos with nothing more than WoW, fraps and a decent movie editor. I know he didn't have much time, or maybe I'm missing something but I dont see the point to this at all.
I did however, like the transitions between human/monster in some of them. Especially the first one. That was pretty neat, using the same armor on the guy as the monster. Cool concept, I just wish it'd been carried out more fully. It seemed to have some good potential, but it went nowhere. :(

I agree. Editing and technique aside, this video didn’t make any sense. I wish people would at least put some effort into their stories if they are indeed making story based machinima. This just felt like some kind of joke.
The improper use of “was” also made me cringe.

1) An old lonely man constructs a little girl to keep him company and everyone's a-ok with that.
2) He constructs the little girl to become King of Stormwind. Someone please explain to me the rationale behind this. Also - what happens to him?
3) They could not kill her because she would have killed them, but they are perfectly able to catch her and lock her up because...?

BUT WAIT!
Why was Professor Utonium trying to make little girls in the first place!?

Ok, this was the worst video I have ever seen posted on WoW Moviewatch. The voicework was terrible, the script / story even worse. As posters above state, the creator tried to do make F.E.A.R. in WoW, you know, without the talent.
I think I am going to have to make a machinima just to be better then this.

The poor story and grammar made me thing it was comedy, I was laughing for the first half until I realized that it wasn't.
The first half is completely different from the second half.
