Another reason to get alts for all professions is to avoid having your mats stolen by a scammer.
It's just a matter of trust (and keeping your fingers crossed) when you hand over mats to another player.

I've crafted stuff myself for total strangers, and I always check for BOP if they want me to craft something (so they don't lose the mats because I can't give the item to them)
