True. As is Wowhead. I've seen plenty of people asking for specific items in Trade and use the link for the recipe that will be used. I, myself, have used Wowhead to link the item I wanted made.

Though, the advice in the article does help out. It is less likely to get cheated by having the person link their profession. At least then you know they have the pattern in question. Doesn't really stop them from stealing the mats during trade, but that's a risk you take using Trade. It's not that dangerous. There aren't that many people out to steal your mats. Just enough people to make you wary.
