We Have a Tabard: Don't go away mad, just go away
The above video by Propostris and Gigi, while awesome, is not safe for work.
As I've mentioned before, building a guild can be very challenging. Recruiting and retention efforts are critical. Sometimes you find members, however, that may seem to fit in, but in the end they do not. You must strike a balance between having enough guilides to get things done and a team that works well together. Your guild rules and personal interactions help determine which members are valuable members of the team and who needs a /gkick.
I have found that having a lot of guild members is generally not better than having quality guild members. There are many ways in which guild members can not fit. Sometimes folks activity times do not mesh with the guild. It doesn't really do any good to have folks tagged up but stuck PUGging raids because they can't be there for raid times. This person may not need to be removed, but don't be surprised if he or she leaves to find a guild with raid times more suited to their play times.
Skill is another common mismatch. I've encountered some people that really want to be raiders, but don't have the time or attention to do it. Someone who generally lacks raid awareness is not a good fit for a raiding guild. You don't remove someone after the first time they stand in a fire or accidentally pull a trash mob. When it becomes obvious that someone isn't interested in improving their performance, it may be time for a separation. There are some fights where a single person can wipe a raid, it's up to you to decide how many wipes are too many.
Personally, I have trouble with someone who is discourteous to the raid. Arriving late or leaving without notice frustrate the group and the guild. Chronic AFKs or constantly needing buff reminders also represent a lack of raid awareness. Folks who regularly leave raids high and dry should not be surprised when it's a while before they are asked back to raids, and if their violations are severe or frequent enough, they may be released from the guild.
Attitude is the most important thing though. Whether it's situational negativity or an over developed sense of self-importance attitude problems are toxic. There are many personalities in WoW, and the more folks in the guild the more chances there are for conflicts. But someone who is just cranky or offensive is usually just poisonous to the guild. I find that it's best to remove someone when I have multiple people complaining about a single person. No matter how good of a player it's better to remove one than alienate the many. One rotten apple can really put a damper on a guild.
It's up to you to decide how serious your guild business is. Overall, your guildies should match your expectations. My guild was formed on "people I would sit around a campfire and drink beer with." We get things done, but have a good time while we're doing it. I expect everyone to pay attention to the raid, but I am really put off when someone raises their voice in vent. Since this is what I do for fun, I enjoy a mellow environment. I do my best to keep instill that perspective in my guild and my raid.
It's not fun to remove people from your guild. I generally feel bad when I have to hit the "gkick" button, but in the end I know it's for the better. I like to believe that there's a guild out there for everyone. It's just not always mine.

I thought that was pretty good for what it was.. The rap was funny, I like how they added all the WoW stuff to it. I think some of you are waaaaaaaaaaay to @#@#@# serious.
Pexxle Aug 29th 2009 6:23PM
Lol i found it interesting as well and yeah Gigi, no disrespect but she butchered it. As for people with "Rap Sux" talk, thats nice...No one cares. People still flame if it was Rock, Heavy metal, Death Metal. "Thats too Emo", "This band sold out!" blah blah.
J Aug 29th 2009 5:15PM
it's rare that a video actually makes me cringe.
This is taking WoW too seriously. Thinking you're a gangsta because your digital toon is a PVP king... just what. O_o
Gigi is, as usual, terrible. She can't sing, she has no flow, and clings to that autotune like her life depended on it. Of course she's a belf hunter. :P
Hellscreamy Aug 29th 2009 6:23PM
Really, could we get some kind of different types of music in here? This WoW Rap is getting old and is starting to look like some Internet tough guys (and girl) trying to increase their e-peen. Seriously, guns on the background?
If only I wasn't lazy, bad at creating video's and a terrible singer I would make a WoW song to throw some variation in the music scene.
Please, I beg all of WoW, stop this (Gangster) Rap thing and try some different types of music. Dance, Metal, Rock, Classic, Folk, ANYTHING else!
/rant off

Also, forgot to add this:
The guy was pretty good and it fitted the song (I have heard the song before during GTA San Andreas I think), but GiGi was still terrible. She'll need a better microphone and keep to the rhythm of the music. The last part with the "Like This and That" sounded kind of off.

Why are people getting downrated for liking the video? I didn't like the female vocals either myself.
xaospro Aug 29th 2009 8:43PM
WOW. Why do you guys continue to think that GiGi and any of the 'tard she is associated with are skilled in any way lol. The machimina is decent and when they work with redeye, some of the animation is amazing.
But their singing and rapping, its HORRIBLE!!! They have no skill whatsoever and while its cool to rhyme using lines of wow talk, its not that skillfull. Someone needs to start machinima music vids that actually HAS TALENT.
And now I've heard that Machinima.com actually paid gigi and her group for another 5-10 songs or something??
Of over 10 million players in the wow community, theres gotta be some people that know how to write lyrics or sing/rap them correctly.
Original?> Maybe , Horribly recorded? > Defineatly, Will it end?> Unfortunately, its just the beginning for talentless hacks that want attention, so they use wow to get a name.
Even if they dont want the notoriety, please dont give them more credit than they deserve. And the guy rapping, the supposed " black hood guy" , gimme a break!!
Steve Urkel drunk has a better chance of getting a recording deal, even as a humor rapper.
Having a black guy recite lines in a song, does NOT give it any street cred whatsoever. Its embarrassing to the art of freestyle and rap - and ill prove it.
Within the next two weeks, I'll make a youtube video of wrtten rhymes, and then you can give me feedback about what you want my freestyle to be about in wow and ill do it live on a ustream podcast,
I can rap and i'm damn good, but i dont really try - and even that is better than the mess is just had to listen to lol
Still, I love wow.com!!! wooot
halophoenix Aug 29th 2009 8:49PM
Wow! You guys are pretty harsh.
I enjoyed it for what it was - a cute WoW video with some rapping in it - but....I have to admit I stopped several times and had to make myself come back to finish it. Sad, but true.
I really dug the references though - and the photoshopped Bulls jersey kind of sold it for me. It'd be one thing if the video creators were just having a little fun, but it looks like they're actually trying to be hip-hop artists, which...is unfortunate.
Either way, good times. :D
Slaytanic Aug 29th 2009 9:05PM
Uh.....did anyone who commented even read the article, which had NOTHING to do with the video?
I couldn't care less about how good or bad the rap is, I prefer SLAYER, but being in a guild that raids 7 nights a week (between 25 and 10-man), I found the article very informative, and could relate to almost everything in it. I especially liked the "beer and campfire" reference. How long do you stick around in vent after a raid? Do you disconnect and bolt, like punching a time card at 5 o'clock, or do you stick around to shoot the shit with your guildies, re-forming something else (like that last minute attempt at that H daily and the Triumph badges before the reset?)
gg. /highfive

Beyond my like/dislike for the video it self...I actually find the topic a funny one. While the writer said /gkicking was hard, one of my guilds found it a past time literally. If someone was acting and the officers decided to remove them from the guild, they would act as if it was a play from a game.
Its the snap...
The kick is up...
noob1 has been kicked from the guild
"Its goooooooood!"
Most of the time this kind of stuff was used for people we didn't really care for. Especially if they were in the middle of a nerd raging qqfest.
Yanel Aug 29th 2009 11:06PM
Seriously, WHY does Gigi keep rapping on videos? She's SO horrible. It's not cute, it's not funny, it's certainly not entertaining.....as soon as I saw Gigi was in the video, I knew it was gonna suck. Please, do us a favor, do not post anymore vids with Gigi in it....it's just painful.
Eberron Aug 30th 2009 3:14AM
THAT'S who she reminds me of!
.. The girl in the vid, btw, not the raid column. That's all true. :)
She reminds me of lil J, that little white girl on youtube. It's awesome. XD
Ironbuddah Aug 30th 2009 4:27AM
Gigi is terrible. -.- her rhymes are SO forced and she sounds like she just shoves them in their and prays she doesn't talk over her own words. The guy was decent, but saying, fuck, shit, fuck, and more shit, and shit about fuck. That's not rap, that's just a retard using words that rhyme and saying fuck to show us you're "Hardcore." Especially with Gigi, was like listening to a 10 year old who just learned what a cuss word was. Please, like everyone has posted, NO MORE GIGI!
P.S. I can't do any better, I'm terrible, so I will give her credit for at least making the video. /nod
Gnomeofdoom Aug 30th 2009 7:07AM
¬¬! you people make me sigh if you go to this guys youtube page all is ealier stuff he got on the radio....
All really funny stuff and hes new too machinema so he has a much better wow song called
In a PUG and he did a song called lady gaga (oger face) which is histerical.
so before you judge him on this one song look at every thing else hes done.
Betherian Aug 30th 2009 7:46AM
I'm sorry but this needs to be said or reiterated I would asume.
This person's machina skill is absolutely T-E-R-R-I-B-L-E.
The only way this could be worse would be if it was all low quality ingame footage that goes at about 3 fps.
Were you instructed not to bag on this video, actually... were you paid to put this video on this page at all?
Now I will say this because I asume most people will have voted me up or down by now, I do think the guy was fairly decent even though the lyrics, music, machinima and Gigi all sucked. I do think the there were a few too many obscenities in the video.

WORST VIDEO EVERRRRR!
Kaelnuke Aug 31st 2009 10:16PM
Well I am one of those guys who are hated because they are loud mouthed and never shut the fuck up. Plus side though you'll almost never see me fucking up when the boss or trash stuff is going.
Good part though I am surrounded by people who either tolerate/find it funny or are just like me.
