European weekly maintenance: September 2nd 2009
It's nearly the middle of the week once more as well as the start of September. Can anyone else smell autumn yet? The days are getting cooler (thank you!) and the nights, darker. It will be the Harvest Festival in a couple of weeks with free food outside Ironforge and Ogrimmar and there are only so many days till Hallow's End and Christmas/Winter's Veil (sorry, I couldn't resist). However the onset of autumn, as well as being my favourite time of year, also means more time to play WoW. Just not on Wednesdays. This week Blizzard will be taking all European realms offline from 1:00am until 11:00am (CEST). However a selection of realms will be down for longer "to address instance capacity." These realms will be offline from 1:00am to 3:00pm on Wednesday and 3:00am to 7:00am (CEST) on Thursday:
Agamaggan, Aggramar, Al'Akir, Arathor, Argent Dawn, Aszune, Azjol-Nerub, Bladefist, Bloodhoof, Bloodscalp, Burning Blade, Burning Legion, Crushridge, Daggerspine (oh boo, that's me), Deathwing, Doomhammer, Draenor, Dragonblight, Dragonmaw, Dunemaul, Emerald Dream, Sunstrider, Twilight's Hammer and Zenedar.

Just a quick note to people whose realms are going offline this week - this fix really works. I haven't experienced the 'additional instances cannot be launched' problem since last maintenance. :) /cheer Blizzard!

Thank you, that's really encouraging. Although it has been a bit better this week. People are back to school and work. :-)

2nded on my 2 realms.
It's worth it, trust me.

Thank god - Aggramar was terrible today.

Agreed, haven't had the problem once since they fixed my server just before patch 3.2. Just annoying that they took so long to actually do it, this had been going on ever since WotLK launch on some servers, that's nearly a year...

that's great news... if your realm has or is being done. somewhat of a slap in the face for those of us that are on battlegroups that have not. I've had to simply stop running instances before 12am some nights.
thankfully, it means i can level my alt instead. ;-)

Noooo! Not Argent Dawn! But I suppose it's worth it to get the instance servers working again. *le sigh*

"sigh" - another Tuesday fix with longer maintenance than expected. Joy.

Kinda sucks for me, my realm was in with the others a while back for this fix, so I couldnt play then, and then i switched realms and moved my char over to daggerspine EU and have to go through it all again :(

Bear in mind our american cousins seem to be having tons of trouble with servers not coming back up so i'd be prepared for that before making any plans.

Every Tuesday is usually maintenance from 3am, this is earlier than normal. Caught out all the people in my totc hc group just now when the 15 min countdown started during the jousting, but we finished it anyway with 1 minute to spare :)

Was quite funny on Draenor today; as the 1AM deadline grew closer, more and more people started saying that it was in fact 1AM GMT and not 1AM CET. Then, at 12:58 AM GMT, we get a warning:
[Server] Shutdown in 15 mins.
[Server] Shutdown in 3 mins 45 seconds.
Think an intern was late on the reboot switch... :-)
Agerath Sep 1st 2009 10:17PM
That would be 11:58 GMT, durp!

NO!
I'm sick today!
Do it next week!
NOOOOOO!!

I play on The Sha'tar (Vindication) battlegroup, and all I want from this maintenance is to stop being often disconnected from Wintergrasp battles, sometimes multiple times in the same battle! It doesn't help that upon returning after a first disconnect, the "hold both mouse buttons to aim/move" doesn't work properly, forcing me to use the WSAD keys for dismounted movement and nerfing me as a vehicle gunner.
Also, what's with my subscription expiring and disappearing (from Account Management) on the first when officially it's paid through the 19th? Good thing I was in a sanctuary at the time of this subscription-expire d/c.
