Via GuildOx, we have another big raid achievement coming down the pipe for
Premonition of the Senjin-US server, who probably needed a boost after
that horrible wipe to Hogger at BlizzCon. They've just grabbed the 10-Man
Tribute to Mad Skill achievement, which means they defeated the 10-man Coliseum raid on Hard Mode up through and including 10-man Anub'arak with less than 5 wipes over the entire time.
Premonition has established itself among the solid lead US guilds before, having also been
the first US guild to get Heroic: Alone in the Darkness by killing 25-man Yogg-Saron with no watchers. It looks like they're poised to continue that streak now that all the bosses in the Coliseum are unlocked. Congratulations to them, and good luck in the future!
Update: We're attempting to verify this through other means at the moment. Hold onto your pants! -Alex
Update #2: Confirmed.

Congrats to them. And I thought my guild was doing good downing twin valk in 3 attempts. Lol. How long till ythey get the 25 man achievment

From GuilOx it looks like they're the world first, not just US. I guess the real race is for "A Tribute to Insanity" though. Should be exiting to see who gets it first. It would kinda be nice for a US guild to be world first for once instead of the usual suspects from EU (i.e. Ensidia) and Asian (i.e. Stars) servers.

EU can't do it yet though so even though it is World First it's really an unfair race. If an EU guild doesn't get it tomorrow (Assuming that servers aren't fucked) then the World First title is theirs in my opinion.
Neirin Sep 1st 2009 11:45PM
Oh, totally forgot that EU maintenance is on Wednesdays. With stuff like this, though, the best you can call is a tie (both getting it the first day it was possible) unless you want to try getting down to hours or minutes. Of course, Ensidia or whoever could totally crush them by getting Tribute to Insanity and make the whole thing moot.

Congrats to them, but this probably says a lot more about the difficulty of the raid, than about the skills of the raiders.
Kinda disappointing, the normal modes were a joke, and apparently (at least in 10-man) the hard modes aren't much harder. European servers aren't even up for another 6 hours.. but I'd expect many guilds on both continents will get the same achievement on the first day.
Sad.

Posting front page articles about 25 man guilds doing 10 man achievements is not necessary. Their recognition for 10 man achievements is kind of cheating to begin with.
jam Sep 1st 2009 10:54PM
That's bs, are you saying that only guilds that do solely 10mans should be recognized for these achievements?
Why exactly is that?
Now, I'm not claiming this is news worthy, obviously the raid is way too easy.., But there's absolutely no reason why a guild that also runs 25mans shouldn't get recognized for doing genuinely hard 10man achievements.
ObiChad Sep 1st 2009 11:08PM
It certainly will be more interesting to see either someone get the 25 man version of the achievement or someone get the 10 man achievement with just 10 man gear.

Blizzard may have a different opinion. See Herald of the Titans.

... This is why there's a track for strict 10-man progression. Frankly, that's what I'd do if I had time to play at that level.

Grats, but ToC10 is laughably easy.
We have guilds who struggle to down Yogg steamrolling it in the 30 minutes before their Ulduar runs begin.
Bossy Sep 2nd 2009 2:36AM
The 10 men heroic are FAR from easy.
This comes apparently from a guy doing the normal 5 man walk in the parc thing.
It is ALWAYS the same: the guys doing nothing have the biggest MOUTH.
Our casual guild just downed the first beasts (after 2 weeks) and we just do it for fun, but still we whped each time 9 or 10 times and tthe last week we had them. Up to the demon Lord.
I just wih people would shut up^and just play instead of bitching on this beautiful game.

@Bossy
I can't even figure out what you are saying.
And yes 10 ToC is easy at least up to Anub'arak (probably won't get to fight him until Thurs/Fri). I have 4/5 ToC-10 on two characters and 4/5 ToC-25 on my new Shaman main who is just over two weeks at 80. My guild can barely down Hodir 25 and was getting close to a Thorim and Freya kill before ToC refocused us.
I think I have enough experience to say the majority of ToC-10 is easier than Keepers onwards in Ulduar. Now that the majority of people in our guild have seen it we should be able to steamroll it in 30-40 minutes before we go back to working on Ulduar. People are already pugging it on my server.
The boss fights are fun but if you claim they aren't fairly easy on normal you don't have enough experience. The only one slightly hard so far is faction champions because you have to stop thinking standard PVE tactics.
And my guild is "casual", six hours a week of 25 man raiding and we take alts, newbies, and noobs with us.
theRaptor Sep 2nd 2009 4:30AM
Meant to say ToC-25 is easier than Keepers onwards.
andy Sep 2nd 2009 4:58AM
i have to agree with you, i am in a guild or rl mats who do 10 man raiding , and toc is easy, we cant down mirrimdon (voltron) but have cleared TOC every week in a few wipes, yesterday we even ran a 25 man pug and cleared it. (and still had ppl leave on the first wipe, meh i dont get ppl with that mentality)
(ps when i say cleared it, i mean killed all available bosses, ie first week northrend beasts)

@theRaptor
You realize that there is a 10-man ToC, then a Heroic 10-man ToC, then a 25-man ToC, and then a Heroic 25-man ToC? They are all on seperate lock-out timers and the heroic versions are significantly harder than the non-heroics. Obviously you failed to read what Bossy wrote.
I agree that the normal modes are easy, but from what I've seen and heard, Heroics are a different ballgame.
