Via GuildOx, we have another big raid achievement coming down the pipe for
Premonition of the Senjin-US server, who probably needed a boost after
that horrible wipe to Hogger at BlizzCon. They've just grabbed the 10-Man
Tribute to Mad Skill achievement, which means they defeated the 10-man Coliseum raid on Hard Mode up through and including 10-man Anub'arak with less than 5 wipes over the entire time.
Premonition has established itself among the solid lead US guilds before, having also been
the first US guild to get Heroic: Alone in the Darkness by killing 25-man Yogg-Saron with no watchers. It looks like they're poised to continue that streak now that all the bosses in the Coliseum are unlocked. Congratulations to them, and good luck in the future!
Update: We're attempting to verify this through other means at the moment. Hold onto your pants! -Alex
Update #2: Confirmed.

@Durane
I "failed" to read what bossy wrote because of terrible grammar and spelling. And ToC Heroic is not going to be super harder than normal ToC. If the difference is the same as Ulduar hardmodes it will still be easier than Keeper hardmodes and Yogg hardmode.

The difficulty of this raid in 10/25man HEROIC is not complicated game mechanics, atleast not until Val'kyr/ Anub. The concepts are reasonably simple up until that point. The real difficult comes from the great job Blizzard did to balance all requirements of this fight. Everyone in your raid needs to be geared to the teeth and be exceptional player to get any where on these "HARD MODES".
On the very first fight (Gormok) you need to have at the very minimum 100k raid wide dps to make it to P2 without any kobolds up. And the healing requirements are so high that even the best guilds in the world are using 7-8 healers, and 3 tanks to juggle impales. This means that your Raiders need to be putting out an AVERAGE of 6667 dps. And in reality a tick more is required do to dps loss from switching to target Kobolds/movement. On top of that your tanks, even in BiS gear like ours are, will be very close being one-shot by Gormock when they has a massive impale tick after one of his already heavy melee swings. And then after healing all of this crap your healers still have to retain enough mana to get through P2/3.
This is quite and achievement even though it is for 10man content coming from The 25man guild. Blizzard has done a great job with the math on these fights, and I look forward to more encounters like these in the future.

I have to say, congratulations to them. Attempting today's first hard mode made me thank the simplicity of the five fights on normal.
First fight on heroic mode does the following:
Gormok the Impaler: Increased health & and damage. The fires come out in 3s at the start, and diminish to 0 as the last add comes down.
Next the worms come soon after the forth Rising anger buff.
Worms:
More Damage, more health.
Icehowl: More health, more damage. Beserks after a certain amount of time. Oh, and when you all get knocked against the wall, you do not get a speed buff.
That's just the first boss.

If you're coming anywhere close to dying on Beasts normal anyway then I don't know what to say to you.
JamieG Sep 2nd 2009 4:35AM
How about something like, "Unlucky, nice effort, keep trying, mate! :)"?
Styvorama Sep 2nd 2009 7:38AM
If you have been in there with a DK tank then you are going to be dying. Doing the beasts, especially the Impaler, is where you will see the results of the recent DK changes. I was better geared than the pally Main tank, and am normally no problem for healers. I was taking hits in the 15k range, where my shield bearing co tank in 200s was taking 8k hits.
If you have anyone with low expertise, causing the boss to parry, you are likely to take 2 of these shots in close succession. Then you are a dead DK.

Heartfelt congratulations to Premonition, it seems you deserved it. This time, it is quite unfortunate that US realms get to launch into the content a day earlier - Ensidia is still sitting on their nails waiting for the servers to come up.

I bet we could just write these articles a month ahead of time. Seriously, it's no surprise anymore when sponsored guilds get this-and-that achievement.
Regardless, grats.

Premonition is sponsored???

For once I'd say this is significant. Doing 10-mans in 25-man gear and US/EU stuff aside, the significant thing is that they DIDN'T manage the tribute to insanity achievement in the first week.

I missed the memo where only 25 man counted as real raids. The only reason 10 man should be easier is because it is easier to get 10 really good people for a heroic raid than it is to get 25 really good people.
That said my guild is 4/5 10 and 25 and I expect us to clear 10 man heroic (and probably even 25) despite not even having finished Ulduar 25. The bosses would have to take an exponential leap in difficulty on heroic mode to make them harder then Ulduar. The fact that [Tribute to mad skill] fell in the first day tells me that the heroic mode is not out of reach. Especially as the wipes could have been caused by outside events (my instance server likes DCing everyone half way through a fight and resetting, when it isn't doing that we have 1/3rd of the raid lagging).

"The only reason 10 man should be easier is because it is easier to get 10 really good people for a heroic raid than it is to get 25 really good people."
Well, that and the fact that they are already wearing quite a bit of gear that is as good as anything available from the instance they just cleared. But I'm sure a full tier's worth of stats didn't have anything to do with the ease with which they did this. Or, you know, the days upon days they spent on the PTR's learning the encounters before the patch even launched.
Show me a ten man guild in ten man gear that set foot in the place for the first time when it launched with this achievement and I will be impressed. Alternately, I will be impressed when Premonition gets this on 25 man, which I'm sure they will very soon. But overgeared people steamrolling through fights they have done literally dozens of times already just doesn't impress me, sorry.

"Show me a ten man guild in ten man gear that set foot in the place for the first time when it launched with this achievement and I will be impressed."
That's sort of a catch 22 though. If you want to have the most elite world first type of guild, you would want to have the people who in theory do the hardest stuff possible for the best loot. That's 25 man progression in theory. And if you're really top end like that you'll never have a problem filling out a roster either. I suppose you could have some sort of elite 10 man force conquer instances, but by nature of the whole min/max thing you'd always end up with people geared for 25 man.
So I'm not sure we'd ever realistically see an exclusive 10 man guild doing world first, but I agree it would be much more interesting to see.
shaman Sep 2nd 2009 1:57AM
vodka got it too
rando Sep 2nd 2009 2:05AM
So has Spike Flail. Probably not the most impressive of achievements given the level of gear these guilds are running with. The race for 25 man tributes should be pretty interesting though.
Otome Sep 2nd 2009 2:33AM
Grats to Premonition. Nice way to pick up the slack after the beatdown from Hogger.
As for the day early thing? No offense to the EU fanbase, but does anyone really want to see another 'Ensidia grabs first (achievement name here)'? And who knows? They might call it boring and not even bother trying.
