Are you crazy? I challenge you to go watch Planet of the Apes (1968) and then come back and say that with a straight face.
Also, while I won't defend the 2001 remake (because I didn't think it was especially good either), I will point out that leaving it at "featuring marky-mark" is a little bit deceiving.
It should be:
"featuring academy award nominees Mark Wahlberg, Helena Bonham Carter, Michael Clarke Duncan, Paul Giamatti, Kris Kristofferson, and Tim Roth, as well as Maxim Hot 100 winner Estella Warren".
Just saying.
