Pacifist Priest dings 80 on Friday
Reinisch is the pacifist Undead Priest who's aiming to make it to level 80 without killing anything at all (he's the same player as Noor, who we interviewed way back when and followed up with a while ago), and apparently this Friday, he's going to do it. He's inviting everybody out to a party on Friday afternoon, September 4th, at 6pm server over on The Venture Company. He's going to turn in a Dalaran fishing quest to do it, and he's got quick and easy directions posted on how to get to Dalaran as a level 1.Though there might not be as much going on as other big server parties, it's probably worth going just to see him ding level 80 and the level 1 chaos in Dalaran that will ensue, but it's quite an achievement for sure, especially considering that this Priest was actually created before Noor -- he's named after a German priest who stood up to Hitler in the name of peace and was executed for it. It might be nice just to stop by and give the guy a grats as he dings -- pretty impressive to take a goal that most people would say was impossible, and do it in the game not once but twice on two different classes and factions.

As someone said earlier, he's a pacifist, not an animal rights activist. ;)

omg his killing fishes...

He admitted to vehicular homicide and the use of cannons in Wintergrasp. Even going to BG's is supporting a war, which is not a pacifist thing to do. Healing people who are fighting, is also not a pacifist thing to do. So in the end, he is not a pacifist. He may of leveled up the hard way, but it's not worth the recognition of being a pacifist if he isn't a pacifist. Now if he truely didn't participate in any BG's or Wintergrasp, then I'd have respect for him. Between that and naming his character off a Priest who opposed Hitler, that'd be newsworthy. But as is, he supported and participated in the war against his opposing faction. Not a pacifist thing to do.

This is not accomplishment. This is not dedication and commitment.
This is seriously completely totally utterly fucking pathetic and I hope this person dies of AIDS. But they wont in their sexless life.

Don't you kill the fish when you pull them out of the water?
;)

I am sorry, but I see this as a failed and flawed attempt.
He did battlegrounds. He doesn't need to directly kill someone for this to void, simply the act of choosing to be in a war zone and watching people die violates the pacifist mind set.
Also, this is a roleplayer server ( correct me if I am wrong ) so the character wouldn't know about experience from a 'daily wsg match' so entering it specifically for the experience, and violating the pacifism nature by CHOOSING TO ENTER A BATTLE ZONE is very flawed logic.
I've mentioned this before.

"He did battlegrounds. He doesn't need to directly kill someone for this to void, simply the act of choosing to be in a war zone and watching people die violates the pacifist mind set."
It's impossible (except for the very slow seasonal attempts) to get past about level 17 for horde, and level 23 for alliance, without doing battleground daily quests. And of course my toons don't just "watch people die," I'm quite good and I know how to play.
"...violating the pacifism nature by CHOOSING TO ENTER A BATTLE ZONE is very flawed logic."
It happens in real life.

@Brian
When I saw that you weren't actually a pacifist I actually considered trying it myself, but since so many people who commented obviously had no idea what a pacifist really was, I figured it would be a waste of time.
The example of Desmond Doss that you hold up as a pacifist "refused to kill, or carry a weapon into combat". So by your own standard your WoW toon is not a true pacifist, as you have admitted to using weapons and killing.
It’s unfortunate that you found it impossible to level past a certain point as a pacifist. But it is not right to continue to level to 80 as a non-pacifist while calling yourself a pacifist when you are not!
That would be kind of like a person calling themselves “The Hardcore” (after the D2 mode) and trying to level to 80 without dying, holding a celebration of their accomplishment when they dinged 80 -- then admitting that, well, I actually did die a few times...
Obsidiana Sep 4th 2009 12:19PM
"If you're quite good and know how to play" then you also realize that you're living a lie.
Knowing how to play has zero to do with misrepresenting yourself.
You just admitted that it's almost impossible to level a pacifist, yet you say you're about to ding 80 by doing non pacifist.
Correct me if I am wrong, but didn't you say before that you didn't heal in battlegrounds? If that is true, then you're Desmond reference is as flawed as the rest of your logic.
Obsidiana Sep 4th 2009 12:21PM
NOT TO MENTION as someone reminded me, you killed people in vehicles and cannons!
Show me where Desmond says "I never shot anyone, but MAN did I love crushing them under my tank!"
I'll pay for your name change to FlawedFraud.

it does take time, but grats for the effort made here. I can't see myself doing anything manually, that's why I use a wow glyph guide in my gaming. thanks
