From the screen shot it sorta reminds me of the sphere grid from FFX.

And that itself makes it all the more cooler.

I also immediately thought of the sphere grid, which I LOVED. Almost made dealing with Tidus worth it.
Almost.
Anyways, this looks good for role-players and non min/maxers as well as raiders.

I never liked the sphere grid, it ended up making all the characters identical, separated only by which spheres you took

This is exactly what I thought, the first time I saw and heard about it! And, I completely agree that this fact only makes Path of the Titans that much cooler.
I remember feeling somewhat hesitant about the sphere grid in FFX, at first. Then, after getting used to it, I really liked it very much. I'm not even hesitant about Path of the Titans, though, and I already love the looks of it and think it looks incredibly promising.
I think this is a fantastic way to allow players who don't have time to raid and aren't that into pvp, to progress and have fun with their characters at end levels. I also like how Path of the Titans seems like a way to really individualize your toon and make it more your own.
I'm beyond excited about Archaeology, as well. I absolutely LOVE the idea of how these two things will most likely go hand-in-hand. And, I can't wait to learn more about it.

At the end of FFX, you could eventually have every character having the exact same grid, giving them all identical abilities.
Coincedence, much?

Yup, this is exactly what I thought of when I saw the screen shot. I know alot of folks say the Materia system in FFVII was the best thing ever, but I really did like the Sphere Grid more. You didn't have to grind out level after level of Materia in order to get everyone in your party with a 5 Star Ultima spell. All you had to do was play the game, level normally, collect spheres and pretty much pick and choose where you started and where you wanted to go with your characters beyond their given "purpose" in the game.
I'm excited for the Path of the Titans, its probably what I'm looking forward to most in the Cataclysm.
