Patch 3.2.2: Timear Foresees Sons of Hodir reputation in your future!

I've already completed the Sons of Hodir rep grind on my main, so this isn't particularly helpful there. However, I'm going to love it on my alts. I shined enough spears or whatever to last me a lifetime, and any way to avoid it that doesn't involve buying thousands of Relics of Ulduar is fine by me. I'm glad to see these quests get a little bit of love too, because I've been throwing away all sorts of commendations for the last few months simply because I'm already exalted with everything. Yes, even on my alt. It's really not hard if you remember to wear your tabard! Throwing away all of those commendations felt a little like flushing time down the toilet, so hopefully this will alleviate that a little and make it so the Emblem of Conquest isn't the only draw these quests have anymore.

And don't forget; you also can also complete the reg daily with heroic mode turned on. I usually try to do this for the extra badge when I chain.

I blew his horn, shined his spear, sat down with him by the toasty campfire, told him a couple tales of magic spells while wearing my wizard robe and my pointy hat, which ended in me beating his meat, and I even had the Ice Stone melt, so I could get his not-so-fine loot.
Hodir and I are lovers, and I'm pretty sure his sons like me for that.

Agreed. Where are the commendations for the rep that are HARD to get? Frostborn, Explorer's League, no doubt the Horde equivalents... even the Kalu'ak are harder, with three dailies in three different zones, than any of the factions that can be championed and have several dailies of their own.
I don't get the complaining about the Sons of Hodir either. Some of their quests were annoying, but OK, then, just don't do those. As rep grinds go, there are a lot that were harder. Ogri'la took longer, SSO might have been quicker but its quests were spread out all over Quel'Danas AND Outland, and you couldn't start Netherwing until you did a five-man quest without the help of people who had done it before.

I am exalted with Frostborn and Explorers league, after having killed a billion drakes on my eagle, and shot down so many gargoyles I suspect they will go extinct. The reward for which was:
a) Eagle mount!
b) Cool tabards
c) Pets
d) Achievement
e) A mild tingling sensation I wasted 6 months for zero rewards other than a rep bar
On a related note, I agree with Cyrus however: People who consider the Sons of Hodir a "tough rep grind" have not apparently completed any "actual tough rep grinds".

What are you talking about? There's no reward from getting exalted with those factions that I know of, and I can't find any kind of an eagle mount anywhere on wowhead.com. Unless you just mean the one that's provided for the Frostborn daily, but (a) you don't get to keep it and it doesn't count as a mount, and (b) that's available at neutral or friendly.

Ah, that was intended as a sarcastic multiple choice; my point was I got nothing (e). Unless they alter that I see little point in adding commendation badges for those factions at all.

I'd say the official reasoning is that this is supposed to help alts, that's why it wasn't like this from the start.
