I think they still need to add a couple more things to engineering to make it a solid proffession. Right now it's more of a "fun" proffession that takes time and money to level. They still need to add more things.

I dunno... it's not far from being "viable".-Glove Rockets are hands down the best Arena glove enchant, even for healers.-Nitro Boosts are a BiS boot enchant for many classes.-The cloak enchants are BiS (often by a small amount) for many classes.-The glove enchants are BiS for many classes.-Grenades are amazing threat tools for tanks - Warriors in particular benefit a lot.-Having an AH in Dalaran is truly amazing. The downside is that it doesn't provide a good stat boost for all classes/specs. But really, that's the only downside.

As a paladin I cannot stress enough how good it is have the rocket gloves and the boots. Hand mounted rocket + lighting bolt generator + rocket boots + stun grenades = no kitingFor PVE I use the rocket boots frequently to get into position or to avoid Thaddius damage and the like. I use the parachute to avoid falling damage when a boss sends the party flying into the air. In addition to the practical uses, all of these items (particularly the boots and the parachute) are just plain fun. Especially with the addition of Jeeves and the auctioneer bot in Dalaran, I'd say Engineering is doing pretty good right now. Lets not forget all those times we accidentally flew over WG, only to save ourselves with the cloak enchant. Yes, I know you've done it too.

They don't work at higher levels, but Flash Bombs http://www.wowhead.com/?item=4852 are great fun in the Battlegrounds. Nothing beats forcing a Druid in Bear form to run away!We also have the flashlight trinket now, which is nice for alts. It's the first trinket you can get with +hit, and by far the easiest to obtain.Oh, and a Rogue with the ability to occasionally rez a healer? Very nice for saving wipes. It's not all about the DPS people. Engineering has plenty of uses, just not many ways to make money :(
