Any number past 5 is not your friend. But R, F, C, X, and Z ARE your friends!. Shift-R has been my goto combat beginner since I was in my 30s, and it's how I get into tree or moonkin now. Shift-Z hits up my mount, and Z alone throws me into flight form (or travel form, because I have an awesome macro). If you have average size hands, or larger, don't be afraid to Shift-1 through Shift-5 as well.

I recently added in Caps Lock, as my !Form macro. That might end up being used for a skill that I use more often, though.

And of course, if you are ever healing yourself, throw Healbot on there so that you can take all your healing spells off your bars.

I have big hands, I can hit TAB and ENTER with my pinky and thumb if I stretch. :) It doesn't take much for me to slide over to use all the number keys, but the t through = key are lesser used abilities.
