Other than using ESDF for movement keys (I don't have to move my hand at all to type and have access to more keys) I have mine setup very similar. ESDF moves and all instant abilities are bound to one of the 7 mouse side/top buttons so I don't lose any movement control while using them. Anything with a casting time and my cooldowns go on any one of WRTAGZXCVH as I won't need to be moving them while casting. Anything used mainly out of combat goes on 1-0, raid marks are on the number pad. Following a system like this means it's really easy to swap from character to character as I generally have them all setup the same way.
I also like to remove every ability from my action bars once a month or two and put them all back to see if they make sense in their locations. Too many times abilities end up being dropped somewhere without any thought like Mike's Hunter's Mark.
