Potential Lt. Governor of Guam is also a hardcore WoW player

Guam is a territory of the United States and has one non-voting member in the U.S. House of Representatives. It's the largest of the Mariana Islands, as well as the most southern island of that grouping. It's also home to a potential future Lieutenant Governor who is also a serious WoW player.
Senator Ray Tenorio wrote GamePolitics.com to say that he would be running for Lt. Governor alongside his friend Senator Eddie Baza Calvo, who is the one running for Governor. He also said that he wanted to let people know that gamers are the same folks who "fight and die for democracy, conduct intricate procedures in professional careers, and, Yes, even make policy." And while that sounds like a lot of political season rhetoric, the Lietutenant Governor has already established his gamer credentials.
Senator Tenorio's character Paleray is a Dwarf Priest in the Knights of the Mariannas on Silverhand. I'll save you the trouble of looking up whether he qualifies as "skilled" or "nub." Not only is he rocking several Hard Mode Achievements out of Ulduar, but he's an old-school player. Senator Tenorio is a Knight-Lieutenant from the old PvP system. While it wasn't one of the worst "grindy" titles, it certainly shows that the Senator has spent some time around Azeroth. Best wishes to Ray on going from Knight-Lieutenant to Lietuenant Governor.

Idea for 3 'new' battlegrounds:
1) House of Representatives
2) The Senate
3) Congress
doubleA Sep 6th 2009 3:18PM
the house of representatives is congress....
I-R-PALADIN? Sep 6th 2009 3:24PM
i thought congress was both the house and the senate? i could be wrong.
Alex Austin Sep 6th 2009 3:28PM
I stand corrected
sccorp.sc Sep 6th 2009 3:33PM
Just kidding around guys. :D I'm not trying to be technically, nor politically ;), correct.

Just for you trolls, though:
The United States Senate is the upper house of the bicameral United States Congress, the lower house being the House of Representatives. The composition and powers of the Senate and the House are established in Article One of the U.S. Constitution (which does not use the terms "upper" and "lower"). Each U.S state is represented by two senators, regardless of population. This ensures equal representation of each state in the Senate. Senators serve staggered six-year terms. The chamber of the United States Senate is located in the north wing of the Capitol building, in Washington, D.C., the national capital. The House of Representatives convenes in the south wing of the same building.
The Senate has several exclusive powers not granted to the House, including consenting to treaties as a precondition to their ratification and consenting or confirmation of appointments of Cabinet secretaries, federal judges, other federal executive officials, military officers and other federal uniformed officers, as well as the impeachment trials of federal officials. The Senate is a more deliberative body than the House of Representatives because the Senate is smaller and its members serve longer terms, allowing for a more collegial and less partisan atmosphere that is somewhat more insulated from public opinion than the House. The Senate is considered a more prestigious body than the House of Representatives on account of its longer terms, smaller membership, and larger constituencies.

Correcting a fairly basic mistake isn't trolling.
Peacebone Sep 6th 2009 2:21PM
how do we know he's not just going for the Lt. Governor achievement?

Holy crap, I'm on Silver Hand! I've got to find him an obnoxiously challenge him to a duel to determine his worthiness in time of war!
Alan Carr Sep 8th 2009 10:28PM
I both play on Silver Hand and am from Guam. Interesting.
And his Knight-Lieutenant totally whoops my Master Sergeant.
Damon Sep 6th 2009 2:35PM
He's a dwarf! All dwarves are republicans!
Although, being canadian, i'm not 100% sure what that means.
SaintStryfe Sep 6th 2009 7:16PM
Feed Stephen Harper more drugs then he normally takes, then make him REALLY hate taxes that affect him, and really love taxes which hurt people poorer then him. Oh, and he has to hate the gheys.
That's a republican. Stephen Harper without the limits of polite society.

Hes got 4 points in reduced spell damage and 0 points in Body and Soul. He's got a crit gem instead of intellect, and thats not to forget his numerous spell power gems instead of regen stats. He doesn't have any of the hard mode loot you said he does. In fact, outside of Disarmed, he doesn't have any hard mode kills! He hasn't killed Anub'arak, arguably the easiest boss in Normal ToC.
I'm okay with him not having any of the achievements that a typical 3-hour-a-day player has, but he's not gemming correctly or anything. Do any famous people play the game right?
RetadinMan Sep 6th 2009 2:50PM
Hey, on my server there is a healadin who stacks haste. He is also the best healer on my server. He can dps while healing. His HL's are as fast as my FoL's. He may have a very weird play-style is all.
Creese5704 Sep 6th 2009 3:29PM
Everyone doesn't have to play conformed to a "cookie cutter"standard I have seen several people do some massive heals/damage and not be conformed to cookie cutter standards INCLUDING priest. You can have the best gear in the game and still suck eggs and only do 1000 or under damage I have seen it. You can have not so "best" gear and still keep up with some of the top geared individuals in game, I have seen that as well.
So do not sit there and degrade him because he doesn't have the cookie cutter spec for a priest shadow or healer to have. IF he knows how to play the game, and what hes doing as a priest, his skills will prove he knows what he is doing. Not his gems, spec, or enchants he may have a spec that works great for him and he could be kicking butt and taking names doing so.
Cyanea Sep 6th 2009 3:51PM
To be fair, 1635SP is kinda low...that's like Naxx10 spellpower. o.O
Granted, I'm a Resto Shammy and not a Holy Priest, so I could totally be missing something here.
Cyanea Sep 6th 2009 3:57PM
D'oh. He didn't log out with his weapon, offhand, and wand equipped. I knew that. >.>
Beksinski Sep 6th 2009 4:30PM
The guy is gunning for Lt. Governor of Guam and is more successful than pretty much anybody reading this thread will likely ever be, so thank you for the spergy neckbeard sentiments
Body and Soul is a crutch.
