Well, as a raiding shadow priest (disc sub for healing heroics), I am doing pretty well on the dps charts. Not the top, never the top (save on certain AoE pulls with mind sear), but more than respectable. Given the added utility of buffs and mana and health regen (and an occasional off-heal when the main healers get taxed), I enjoy the role. Leveling as anything but shadow was painful as all get out; though, I enjoyed healing instances at level as shadow (no respec needed). Are there better classes? Yea, maybe - even probably. But, I really enjoy the priest class...(and actually enjoy disc healing far better than holy).
