Yeah I know we are the squishy class out there and leveling is really not nice. Thanks to RAF I skipped 24-54 and holy'd through Outland (hmm more through Ramparts and Coilfang) and shadow'd through Northrend. :D
In PVP it's not like that you draw some attention it's more like you draw ALL attention, you're getting faceroll-stunned, gripped, chained and than you're allowed to die. Most of your team mebers don't care that you are the one that keeps them alive or even whisper "thanks" like it's everybody on his own. :(
I did the switch from Holy to Disc with 3.0 and wouldn't want to go back.
Shadow takes some time to set up all the debuffs but it's nice to play in contrast to a pally I think. Played a friends ret pally for a few levels now and I don't know it seems it's Judgement, Crusader Strike and Divine Storm over and over.
You're right playing a priest is a hard job and sometimes annoying but it a lot of fun if it works and people keep an eye on you like you keep yours at their health bar. :)
