Another way to put that would be to say that Blizzard bowed to incredible demand from the community to put such a service in place.
Might be just semantics, but I feel like this is one of those areas where they're damned if they do and damned if they dont by the community. When there's no race change Blizzard wont listen; When they do listen they're liars and hypocrites.

"reneged" may have been too strong a word there. I honestly didn't mean to make it a horribly negative thing, I have no problem with Blizzard offering race changes. Hell, I will almost certainly change my Human Death Knight to a Worgen Death Knight if at all possible.
